The Rutgers Presidential Scholarship is contingent upon student participation and residence in the Honors College for their first year of enrollment. Students may live anywhere in University-owned housing for their second year of enrollment. Students must be enrolled at least 12 degree credits per semester, and complete 24 degree credits with grade point average of 3.25 or better each year of enrollment. Presidential Scholars are guaranteed on-campus housing for four years. This guarantee applies only to the individual Presidential Scholar, not to a roommate, suitemate or housemate. Dollar amounts will vary.
Scholarships are a form of gift aid and do not need to be repaid. Continuing and admitted students who submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are automatically considered for a wide range of scholarships awarded by the Office of Financial Aid. Even if you believe you will not qualify for need-based financial aid, it is still important to file the application, since some merit scholarships also have a need-based component.
