The Southern Scholarship Foundation (SSF) is a rent-free housing scholarship foundation that helps deserving young people who lack financial resources, but demonstrate excellent academic, merit, and good character attend institutions of higher education. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, demonstrate good academics, display good character and motivation to succeed and must be accepted to one of the participating schools. The deadline for Spring consideration is November 1st, and the deadline for Fall consideration is April 1st.
For more than 65 years, SSF has helped students achieve their dreams of attending their choice university through our partnerships at Florida Gulf Coast University, University of Florida, Santa Fe College, Florida State University, Flagler College – Tallahassee, Florida A&M University, and Tallahassee Community College. While SSF does not provide monetary-based scholarships, we offer rent-free homes located near our partner institutions.
