Scholarship Description

Education is vital to the growth and future of every community. Because of this, the Saginaw Community Foundation administers a variety of scholarship programs for high school, community college, university and vocational students. Since awarding our first $500 scholarship in 1987, the Saginaw Community Foundation has awarded more than $8 million in scholarships. The Women of Colors, Inc. Scholarship will be awarded each year to a Great Empowering Motivational Sessions (GEMS) member that is an area high school senior actively involved in efforts to empower young women and in activities that address issues affecting young women in the Saginaw Community. GEMS program members will be given priority. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors or current undergraduates from Saginaw County with a minimum 2.5 GPA who will be pursuing a vocational certification, associate, or undergraduate degree. Applicants must be a member of GEMS (Great Empowering Motivational Sessions). If no GEMS members qualify, this scholarship will be open to non-members. Dollar amounts for the scholarship will vary.
