Hi! My name is Rose Barczak. Growing up I was raised by a single parent and will be responsible for my finances regarding college. I have maintained a 3.5 plus GPA all through high school. Any help I can get with my future would be appreciated!

HI! As a student who joins every club possible, does swimming and basketball while maintaining a 4.9 weighted GPA, this scholarship would be the a very good fit for me. As a first generation American, its not easy to pay thousands of dollars to get into a university, so I try to strive forward to keep the big burden off of my parents. I plan to attend university as a Pharmaceutical major and I am already being trained as a pharmacy technician by my local pharmacy. I would really appreciate your help towards my future of creating vaccines and medicines that battle preventable diseases.

Hello my name is Courtney Thomas I’m currently a Junior I work every summer with kids, I’ve took up culinary classes at Kizin Creole Restaurant. I played volleyball from 6th grade to 11th I’ve played soccer from my freshman year till Junior year this scholarship would mean so much to me simply because it’ll be the first thing that I actually every earned. Taking the bus 40mins to school and back I know the scholarship would pay off.

I think that I will be great for this scholarship because, I am very hard work and I pus to be my best self. I help out in my community and I also help at the food bank. I want this scholarship because, I want to pay my own way for college and I want to learn how to be independent.

I’m a pretty cool and smart kid, you should give me this scholarship. I have a 4.5 gpa, I take all honors classes and APs. I am in leadership, sports careers academy, hosa, California scholarship foundation, future medical club, I am president of garden club, and the list goes on. I’m not gonna tell u everything I have already succeeded in because numerous kids who are applying for this scholarship have been just as involved as I have. Instead I am going to tell you my dreams. I love England. I want to live there so badly, but in every situation there’s a problem. My problem is “I don’t have money”. I don’t even have money for in state college, but England is my dream. The beautiful architecture and streets. I plan to be a dermatologist, but I’m still not positive. I definitely want to work somewhere around the medical field. I hope you read my application with enthusiasm because that is the way I am typing it. Thank you.

Hello, my name is Florene Johnson. I am a Native American from the Salt River reservation. I believe that I would be a perfect candidate for this scholarship. I plan on going to NYU for my undergrad, then majoring in biology to become an OB/GYN. I have worked hard to maintain my grades so I can achieve something, instead of being stuck on the reservation. I am asking you for your support on my road to success.

Hello, receiving this scholarship would be a great help for me and my family to pay for my college expenses. I am interested in attending a University as a Psychology major and will hopefully one day become a Clinical Psychologist with a PhD. I genuinely enjoy caring for others and would love to treat and help people with their mental or behavioral issues.

I know I am the one you are looking for!! My name is Claire Barnes and I am currently attending Oakmont HS in Roseville, CA. I have a GPA of 4.06 as an IB student. I am on two sports, water polo and swimming, and I have a weekend job as a lifeguard at LifeTime Athletic. On top of that, my mom has been my only parent now for 8 years, raising 3 of us, so money is slim, but we get by. I have been determined to pour my time into good things of life and to move forward. Education in my backbone, I have overcome adversity by hard work and a drive to succeed. Please help me to achieve my next goal- which is to graduate college and become a Pediatrician.

January 21, 2021

by Izzy Hall

There are a lot of scholarships out there, some more conventional than others. Last time, we discussed a scholarship for students interested in becoming part of the chicken industry, but even that scholarship is far from the weirdest. There are some scholarships out there that have unusual criteria, to say the least. It may be based on something totally out of your control, like your height or last name. It may be awarded on how much you like a card game, or to whomever comes up with the most creative way to use a household product. It may even be for students interested in… potatoes? No joke, these five scholarships are some of the weirder ones on our site. Are you weird enough to apply? [...]
