The Dallas Jewish Community Foundation and Southwest Community Foundation provide a variety of scholarships to students from Dallas, Denton and Collin Counties. While the overall majority of scholarships are for students from the tri-county area, there are many exceptions. There are also scholarships for students at the University of Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Southern Methodist University, plus a variety of graduate school scholarships.
Scholarships range from $500-5,400, with most allowing study at the college or university of the recipient's choice. In addition to general scholarships, there are specific scholarships for those studying the following fields: veterinary medicine, medical, law, education, fashion merchandising, nutrition, and Jewish studies. Applicants must be full-time students attending college in the fall of the year the scholarship is awarded, and U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Individual scholarship criteria varies.
