Scholarship Description

EEqual's Scholarship Program is designed to highlight the incredible potential of young people in the United States who are struggling with homelessness, housing instability, or extreme poverty.

Scholarship Details

  • Awards are intended to support students facing homelessness or poverty who are working toward post-secondary education.
  • Scholarship funds are directed to the educational institution for qualified expenses, including tuition, fees, books, and course-specific supplies.
  • Applicants may be required to participate in an interview as part of the selection process.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Legal resident of the 50 United States or D.C., aged 16 to 23 at the end of the program period.
  • Citizenship is not a requirement.
  • Currently in the last year of high school or a high school graduate, intending to enroll in an accredited post-secondary program.
  • Minimum 2.0 unweighted GPA.
  • Must demonstrate financial need or have a verified McKinney-Vento homeless status or be part of a family in transition.
  • Must be willing to work with EEqual’s leadership team throughout the application and award process.
  • First-time applicants only; current scholarship recipients should reach out for renewal.

Application Process

  1. Complete the online application form with accurate and complete information by the specified deadline.
  2. Submit proof of financial need, which may include verification of homeless status from a McKinney-Vento School District Homeless Education Liaison.
  3. Be prepared to participate in an interview if selected for further review.
  4. Upon selection, work with EEqual’s team to facilitate the scholarship award to the institution for qualifying educational expenses.

EEqual encourages all students who meet the eligibility criteria and are currently experiencing homelessness or financial difficulty to apply. Through this program, we aim to empower students to achieve their educational goals despite economic challenges.
