I identify as lesbian, I "came out" earlier this year and it has definitely caused a big transition in my life, but I'm proud to finally feel completely comfortable in my own skin. I'm interested in applying for this scholarship, it would help a great deal with the costs of my college education.

I am applying to this scholarship because not only am I apart of the LGBTQ+ community, but I am hoping to eventually become an elementary school teacher in North Carolina. I am a high school senior, and am seeking assistance in my upcoming year as a freshman in college. Living in the South is hard enough, but being gay in the South is a whole other conversation to have. I hope to be awarded this scholarship because I would love assistance in my future years of college.

I am interested in applying for this scholarship. I'm a gay male in need of assistance for tuition costs at Stratford University for the culinary arts program that I've been accepted to. My coming out story is unfortunately one we hear to often. Parents find out I was gay at age 18 and thru me out, I've been on my own ever since.

In the summer of 2016, I came out before I was ready. Fast forward to four years later having been emotionally abused by my own parents because of sexuality, I removed myself from their home and continue on my path to reaching my goals. This scholarship would help me get further along as I continue my studies and my stand to support all those who are apart fo the LGBTQ community.

I'm not exactly a part of the LGBT Community but I'm a big supporter of the community, as well I'm a nontraditional christian that supports gay marriage and adoption. Which tends to get me a lot of hate because most of the christian community is very judgmental. I just wanted to say that there's at least one christian supporter over here that believes the LGBT Community deserves the same rights as straight couples. Love is love and that's all that should matter.

My sibling is identified as transmasculine so I have been a great supporter in his discovery and journey .
