• Scholarship Description
• Merit-based scholarships support students who show great potential to make a positive impact on the Furman community. In awarding merit-based scholarships, we consider: GPA; strength of curriculum; test scores (if submitted); essay; and extracurricular activities. Your application for admission also serves as your application for merit-based scholarships. Individual criteria will vary by scholarship. Dollar amounts will vary as well, but every scholarship is renewable.

  As a Furman student, there are a number of scholarships that you can pursue to fund your education. These types of aid are gifts, meaning you do not have to repay them after graduation. We offer a number of scholarships to students who demonstrate a strong ability to succeed based on their academic achievements, commitment to the community, passion for leading, or exemplary talents. Furman’s scholarships recognize those students who show the potential and promise to make an impact in Furman’s community.
