I'm applying to this scholarship because it will help me get my beachelor's degree in computer science. I've always been fascinated with technology and how it contributes to an individual's knowledge. Since technology is constantly evolving, I would also like to grow with them. Computing offers new challenges and problems for creative minds to solve. Technology takes my interest because it's very complex and it provides the world with many possibilities. I'm capable of putting my time and effort into this major because I could make a difference one day. I look forward to expanding my education in this field and seeking a better understanding of how I will execute my work ethic toward my future career.

I first tried college in 1993 and 1994, Governor Engler from Michigan made some changes to welfare and I was not able to complete my college and raised my children. I am a returning student at the age of 51 at the time. Last year the day before my classes started my mother passed away. While working and being mandated to work 65 to 70 hours a week and grieving for my mother I passed two classes with a B and a B-. I made some changes for this semester and making A's for the first time in my life. I have struggled with Dyslexia my whole life and for the first time I feel like I am in the right place at the right time. I would be proud and honored for you to be part of my story and help me achieve my goal of a BSW. Thank you for your consideration.

Ben B  on 10/16/2020 11:48:40 AM

Hello. My name is Ben Brown, I am a senior at Mooreland Highschool and I plan to go to college and major in Computer sicanceHello! My name is Ben Brown, I am a senior at Mooreland Highschool and I am planning on going to college to major in Computer Science. Let me tell you some stuff about myself. I used to live in El Paso Texas with my mom and two of my brothers. My mom worked really hard to provide for us and give us the best life possible, and honestly, we had a pretty good life living on a single income. I was happy and content but deep down I know I wanted more for myself and my family. So the summer before my freshman year in high school I moved to Oklahoma So I could go to school there and also be working with one of my other brothers who had his own business. It also helped relieve some of the finical strain on my mom as the medications for my type one diabetes were getting a little too much to handle. Going to a small school was a big benefit for me as all of the students and teachers are really understanding of my diabetes which makes things a whole lot easier. In my junior year, I join the volunteer fire department in Mooreland as a way for me to be able to give back a little to the community that has been so kind to me and to learn some important skills. I am now wanting to advance my education and go to college, and any help I can get financially would really help take the stress off of me and my family.

Kristina Z.  on 10/15/2020 9:11:18 PM

Hello my name is Kristina Zamora I am a sophomore in high school, and currently enrolled in a college readiness program. Where I'm taking college credit classes. If granted the opportunity, I will be the first in my family to attend a university to pursue my dream in business. Male figures in my family have been successful in their business endeavors. Growing up they inspired me to do the same and more. With the help of this scholarship I can pay for the financial duties that I would have to inquire, such as textbooks and application fees. I thank you for your time, I’m confident that this can help ensure a better future for myself and family.

Kirra H  on 10/15/2020 6:49:19 PM

I am currently a freshman in high school. The reason I am applying for scholarships is because, my dad doesn’t have the money for me to go to college. My dream college is Harvard medical school. I am really hoping to go to Harvard Medical school. I am hoping to pursue my dream to become a neurosurgeon! I could really use this scholarship and hopefully more to come as I am more involved in applying for scholarships.

Elisia C  on 10/14/2020 8:25:47 PM

My name is Elisia Caldwell and I am in high school and college. I am a sophomore right now trying to get my associates degree. In this program called “crowley colleagues academy” we have to take college courses at tcc. The program gets us college ready for stuff like this. Like right now i’m taking a college course for U.S history, and college siminear. I want to be a registered nurse, and that takes four years to do. I also want to be a therapist for substance abuse, and that will also take four years. It looks like I will go to college for 6 years if I can be successful with this opportunity that’s given. Where the 1,000 dollars comes in, it can go towards books, or anything that will be useful to me in the future. Even though I have a better opportunity then most kids. That doesn’t mean I have a lot of money to support what I want to do. My sister is two grades below, so it won’t be long till she goes to college. She will also need help getting in, so if I could get any extra help with that then I will take it. I will work as hard as I can to succeed, so I believe that this will help me when I need to put it in use. If I can get this money then I can take what I need, and get the education I want to help others. I’ve helped people in many ways so far. I was a girl scout for a very long time helping people get better, and feel safe. That’s part of the reason why I want to be what I'm going to be. Maybe it isn’t my time to get what I need, or want. I will always find a way to make sure things happen.

Fernanda M  on 10/13/2020 8:22:08 PM

It’s a well known fact that college is ridiculously expensive especially for those like me that don’t have buckets of money so I need all the help I can get to accomplish my dreams of being in law studies like my mother wanted to but never got the chance. My mother raised be alone and even when it got hard she was always there to help me grow and become a better person and now I have to show her that her sacrifice was worth it and every single scholarship , grant , and aid matters and counts towards my goal of attending UTA so from the bottom of my heart I thank you for giving me a chance and taking me into consideration for this scholarship.

Hello, My name is Elaine and I am a sophmore University student this year. I am pursuing a career in Graphic Design with two minors, one in Marketing and one in Chrsitian Ministries. I am not someone who can apply for many grants or scholorships. I am middle class and caucasion and not considered a minority in anyway. My parents cannot afford to pay much of my schooling and i barely make enough each summer to continue on in schooling, even with a full time job. I also work part time at school as well as focusing on my studies. My schooling depends on my ability to work and the jobs that i can do while at school are minimum wage jobs. I love photography and the arts and would love to pursue my passions after college. Id love to open my own studio and travel the world sharing my art. The money from this could allow me to update my technology for my classes, such as a new tablet or camera, as well as help purchasing books for my classes. This would leave extra money for me to save for my classes and tuition and allow me to have a chance at graduating debt free, so i can pursue my passions without hindrance. Thank you so much for this oppertunity and the chance to live my dreams.

My cousin passed away 2 years ago in a car accident, we were very lose he was only 3 years older than me. His death sparked a light in me and made me want to pursue the medical field to be able to have a helping hand as much as possible. I was 14 at his time of death I remember feeling so helpless standing next to his hospital bed. I want to turn all my downfalls into my greatest victories and this journey is just one of many. I'd be honored to win the scholarship, Thank you for reading.

I have been struggling with financial issues because my mother is a single parent, and she is raising six children on her own. I would be more than happy if i receive the scholarship.

Good Evening, My name is Brooke and I am reaching out to discuss my reasoning to obtain this scholarship. I am in a family of 6 , all around the same age and college is around the corner for all of us. My goal is to reach out to as many generous scholarship funds as possible to help my parents with college funds. I am academically capable of possibly getting a good enough scholarship for school but not enough financial need as any other teen would have. I have dreams set to the sky as I want to pursue Fashion design at a 4 year University and hopefully make it somewhere big for myself. I want to be independent in life and never give up on my goals. With some financial help and hark work, I can for sure make it anywhere my heart desires.

I am a freshman in college, I have attended 2 years of community college in hopes of all my credits transferring but only 19 credits will be transferring. I want to pursue a degree in business in hopes of being able to graduate in three years and eventually attend law school to study corporate law. Due to Covid, I had to leave my job and I received no financial aid so ill have to apply for loans and for some classes out of pocket with money I don’t have and I don’t want to put my parents in the position to pay because they already have other expenses to pay for. I’m finally at the point in my life where I know where I want to do with my life and I want to go for It with full force. I believe a scholarship helping me pay for my education will bless not only my but my parents life greatly!!

Having parents that expect you to be on your own completely and pay for everything is hard. There’s scholarships out there for tuition etc but this scholarship really stuck out to me because in a way it keeps you organized on what you can use it for and not just throw random money around. As a senior in high school who wants to major in IT, then main way to get good in IT is to take extra courses for IT. These courses aren’t cheap and this would be a great start in my career, I’m already looking to start a class now.

Lia W  on 9/9/2020 7:28:00 AM

Enthusiastic to pursue a major in IT everyone knows you learn most of your material through extra online boot camps, out side training courses, etc. This scholarship would be perfect in helping me pay for those courses, and taking those courses would help me advance in my IT career that can land me a job in the future. Also applying for scholarships is not cheap either , having this scholarship would take off stress during the application process.

I am a senior attending a college prep high school and have taken advantage of the dual enrollment opportunities offered at my school. I would like to use the scholarship to further my dream of attending the college of choice without the extra burden of costs associated with it. Although many merit scholarships can take away the burden of tuition fees, the extra expenses related to attending the college of my dreams needs to be met. Thank you for providing the opportunity to meet the need and fulfill my dream of becoming a member of the medical community to serve others.

Veronica S  on 9/7/2020 3:47:46 PM

As many others are in the comments, I am a current high school senior with hopes of pursuing my education by going to college next fall. I intend on majoring in Political Science & Government to help better our society and communities. Given today’s climate where politicians have control of mostly everything I want to do whatever I can to make sure said people don’t abuse their powers, but rather, use them to help others. I am applying to this scholarship to help pay for my college expenses and not worry about having my low-income parent stress over the costs. Although it may not be much, any penny is helps enough.

Aaliyah P.  on 9/5/2020 5:32:18 PM

I graduated High School in 2020 and my dream is to become a nurse. My grandma went through a scary situation when she had a brain tumor and became paralyzed in her right arm and right leg by two compulsions in her body. I never really saw my grandma scared until her two compulsions she was always the strong one. The nurse that was in charge of her in the ICU treated her so well and took care of her every step of her way. Now my grandma is okay after months but witnessing the nurses at time and how they were with my grandma's sensitive moment it convinced me that that's what I wanted to do help others and serve others when they are in their weakest or hardest moments when it comes to their health. What made me apply to this scholarship is that my grandma and I are the only once keeping our household going unfortunately my parents I are not together in this country so the income that we have is from me and my grandma which is not much but enough to survive. This scholarship would be a blessing to helps us financially while I am a full time students and wont be able to work as much hours.

I am a senior in a dual enrollment program in college. I want to pursue my education by major in culinary arts to make various dishes and cuisines and minor in English in the hopes to teach English abroad in different countries. My reasons for applying for this scholarship is to help pay for my expenses. I also don't want to burden this on my parents when it comes to money. They've done so much for me and always provided me the things that I want and need. Since i'm finally at this age, I know that i'm capable of finding ways to help gather the money to get myself into the college i'm going to, and help my family in return. When it comes to school work and grades, I know that i'm capable of handling any amount of work i'm thrown at, and won't stop until I achieve my goals. I know I won't always win ,but as long as I dust myself off and try again, I know I'll reach it.

I am currently a senior in high school looking to further my education by going to college next spring. I intend on majoring in Early Education to pursue the career of being a teacher for Kindergarten to Second graders. I am applying for this scholarship in order to pay for my books because I don't expect my parents to cover everything; especially with Covid-19 going on right now, it's already a burden. Hopefully if I obtain this scholarship, I can make it less stressful for them, and be able to provide for myself and take some of that "money weight" off of them. Thank you.

I am a current high school senior hoping to further my education in college. Getting this scholarship would give me the opertunity to to fulfil my dream of being the first person in my family to attend and graduate from college. With the assistance i would hope to be granted with this scholarship i would be able to purchace my books, meal plan, or apply it towards my on-campus housing. This money would be greatly appreciated and go towards helpign me achieve my dream.

I think the idea of this scholarships helps immensely and highlighting the fact that students have more to pay for than just tuition itself. The additional costs you may not think of coming to school can become overwhelming because living on your own for the first time with out help from parents can be quite a shock.

Emani M  on 8/26/2020 8:32:00 AM

I am currently a senior and i want to make sure that i’ll receive enough scholarships to help me pay for my education or supplies so that way my mom would not have to come out her pockets so much. I am a honor roll student and i want to get to experience that college life to become a perinatal nurse.

Keona Coleman  on 8/24/2020 10:26:04 AM

I am looking for additional assistance because i lost two jobs due to covid . I have my own apartment because i go to East Georgia in Statesboro. I lost my hope scholarship, and I’m in need of a little help to be stable because i want to pay my rent ahead. It’s hard finding a job in a college town .

Jessi B  on 8/23/2020 3:21:00 PM

I was just accepted to ACM last month. I work full time and then some. For me, receiving this assistance would be extremely beneficial and rewarding. I didn’t receive any financial aid from fafsa due to living in such a big household, however I’m the one paying for everything with my money.

Aaliyah T.  on 8/23/2020 11:21:45 AM

I am a freshman in college, majoring in Kinesiology, and due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, my college funds are now low, and I have not received much help from financial aid. this money would be extremely helpful in covering textbook fees, and course fees.

Jasmine O.  on 8/22/2020 4:51:55 PM

I am a freshman in college, My first week has passed and I realized more now than ever how financially difficult is. I am a first generation in both sides of my family. FAFSA was hard enough to apply for because of my parents citizen status. I am hoping I win this scholarship for school and to make it a little easier for my parents and I.

Kelsey C  on 8/21/2020 11:27:27 AM

I am very passionate about my future and what it holds for me. I plan to be a travel nurse helping people all across the world. I don't live with either of my parents so it makes a lot hard, but I believe this scholarship could show I can do whatever I put my mind to!

Juliza L  on 8/20/2020 1:17:35 PM

Hello, I’m a graduate from Sylacauga High School, class of 2020. I’m applying for this scholarship because i’m the oldest of four and money is tight. This scholarship could help with housing and groceries etc. I’m the first of my siblings to attend college and this has been a bit of struggle for my first time in college, i’m very excited to attend college. I’m wanting to go into Pharmacy Technicians, and i’m a bit afraid i won’t be able to afford a four year or even a two year. This scholarship would help a lot.

I am a high school senior and I am applying to this scholarship to help with the cost of books. I want to be a pediatrician, which is a lot of school and quite a lot of books. So with the help from this scholarship I would be able to ensure I have all that I need at least for the first year or two. This also helps because financial aid does not cover everything. Thank You!

Being a daughter of immigrant parents, I have always dealt with racism and injustice for my entire life and this scholarship will allow me the be the first person in my family to go to college so that I can pursue my dream of majoring in criminal justice to fight for the lives of many innocent people .Ever since my parents were laid off because of corona virus, they have been struggling with paying the bills.I am a sophomore in high school who is still trying to find out what to with my life and with this money I will be able to set a stone for my future. I have always felt like I never fit in because I never found my own niche in something ,but after I started creating fundraisers for families of those who have lost people due to racial injustice, I started to finally find my purpose in life.I have been a part of many BLM protests in my community. My dream is to major in criminal justice so minorities get the justice reform and equal rights they deserve because no human shall ever be discriminated because of their skin color.

Currently, I am a Junior in high school. With this money, I can become one step closer to my goal. After high school, I plan on attending a 4-year college, and major in Computer Science. I plan on getting a PhD degree in Computer Science and to become a Software Engineer. In terms of finances, my family cannot pay for college fully, and I am heavily relying on scholarship money and loans to achieve my life dream.

I am a senior at my school and I am trying to get as many opportunities to have a good college experience with less stress on money and more experience on the learning. I've worked this hard to end my teenage years good and now it's time to work hard as an adult for the future that I want!

Juliette M.  on 8/9/2020 12:22:10 AM

I am a Junior in High School. I will be paying for all of my own college and I currently am unable to get a job with the unfortunate pandemic. With this pandemic I also must be extremely cautious not to be exposed to Covid-19 for the sake of my grandmothers Chemotherapy treatments. I have a 3.0+ GPA and I also am taking a few ASU college classes over at least the next school year. I am a dancer and would like to minor in a dance education degree. At the same time I would also like to major in a business degree.

Jennifer R  on 8/4/2020 10:56:45 PM

This scholarship would mean the world to me. I’m not a typical student. I’m 25 years old and struggling financially. I was married 2 years ago and now my husband and I need to get out of our living situation. Our only hope is for me to go back to school to provide for us. My husband is in the process and applying to be in the Clergy. I have been working a dead end job for the past 4 years. I was working in a very racist and hostile environment. Everything was about favoritism rather than my actual skills on the job. I was unable to advance in the field due to the unfair circumstances. I recently got laid off due to the pandemic and I believe it’s my chance to start a new path. Any means that will help me will for sure make a huge difference in my life! Thank you

Hoda A.  on 8/4/2020 7:07:31 AM

I’m applying for this scholarship because I know It will help me tremendously. I am almost never able to save up enough to pay off my classes or to purchase my books and supplies. For almost three years, I had to take a break from college because helping my family with the bills became my top priority. Now, it’s staying in school and getting my degree so I can have a livable salary for my and my family. If I won, it would make me so happy. I work and I go to school to be able to somewhat afford my classes because taking out loans are not an option for me, unfortunately. I currently live with my parents and care for my grandma in my free time.

Rebecca P  on 8/3/2020 2:01:55 PM

I am a stay at home mom of a 2 boys one being special needs. I am currently enrolled full time with a university taking online classes. I am working towards my undergrad and would love to continue to my masters. We live on a one person income, and of course not all my FAFSA covers my classes so I always have a remaining balance. I can not afford to pay the lump sums that they are requesting, and yet I still get turned in for not paying and they kick me out of my classes. I do not think this is fair. Especially since half the world was shut down and we had no income except unemployment. I would love to continue on with my dreams, and would love to have the opportunity of winning some scholarships to help pay for my dream of being something. Please consider me in the scholarship, as I would greatly appreciate the help. Thank you again for the chance.

I am a senior in High school looking for assistance with school funding. Receiving this scholarship would be a big help financially to help me and my family because we do not have the funds to support my college fee's. And I'm afraid that my goals will have to be put aside to work instead of going to school. Not only will it benefit me financially but it will also bring me stability so I can focus on school rather the financial burden.

I have been working since the age of 16 to start saving for college and have been making my goal come true. This scholarship would help me with textbooks, food, along with other expenses that may arise when I enter this fall. Recently, my brother decided to go back to school and pursue his bachelors degree in Computer Science after many setbacks. I am motivated by my brother and look up to him for many things. Thank you for giving this opportunity.

Hi there! I am 26 years old and returning back to college to finish my dreams. I am working toward a goal of becoming a nurse. No one in my family has ever completed college, or earned a degree. I’m ready to continue my education and with my son watching me, I want to give him a better life that he deserves. After I complete my education I will be able to provide better for him. I believe I will also be totally happy in my career path being a nurse. I have dropped everything just to go back to school, including, my career as a surgical assistant, my home— I now live with my parents, my son has also transferred to a new school, and we even moved 1000 miles to be back with family. Thank you for your time and consideration!

Haylie L  on 7/15/2020 1:39:44 PM

I am applying for this scholarship to help support myself and get the burden of paying so much off the shoulder of my parents. Although this is a generic answer to the question"Why do you want this scholarship", it is as simple as that. Although I'm a junior in high school right now, I want to be prepared for the financial burden later down the road. Going to college is about getting yourself prepared and having a better future, but what good is it if you have to spend your whole life paying off loads of money. There will just be more stress worrying about it later on. My parents' are hard workers and they came to the United States in high hopes of giving me a better future, and I don't want to disappoint. If my parents' worked so hard to get where they are today, I'm sure I can do that too. Perseverance and trying many times to get to where you want is the mindset that I am set on and doing little things like applying for scholarships will help me get there eventually.

With that being said, it would be awesome to receive even a little bit of assistance from someone with more knowledge about this than myself. I have good grades, I am a hard worker, I go after what I want, and I do not give up on things that I really want.

I am currently enrolled in college courses and look forward to the day when I walk across that stage with a diploma in my hand to pursue a career helping others in the medical field. I am looking for scholarships that will help me pay for those expensive medical textbooks. This scholarship would help me achieve my goal of continuing my education so that I may get the chance to help others. I hope I am selected to receive this scholarship so that I might make life a little easier on my future patients.

Vera A  on 7/2/2020 5:15:25 PM

I am looking forward to apply to this scholarship because times are harder than they were before. College tuition is still so huge even in the face of the Corona Virus Pandemic. In order to create some restorative action for myself I am trying to be financially stable in everyday possible so even when I'm not in school, student loans wont take all of my money. Because my parents have a middle class rate income financial aid gives us less money

Jessica C.  on 7/2/2020 3:25:50 PM

As a first-generation student, I want to continue my education and make my family proud. Receiving money from this scholarship will help out through my transition from my 2-year college to a 4-year institution and I am hoping my financial instability is not a problem . Through this pandemic I myself have been affected in every way, now that time is running and I'm submitting my application to the school I want to transfer to I have had seconds of thoughts from my financial needs. There is fear but at this point, any help i can receive is greatly a blessing. I am passionate about school and cant wait to see what the future holds.

Good day, Yes I would like to apply for Dream Scholarship. Its my dream to be a forensic science field. Maybe later in life become a mortician and own a funeral home. Its my dream to discover the cause and why of death. I am applying for this scholarship to help with my school expenses. I tried applying for work study jobs but I am a indoor/outdoor Track and Field Athlete which my schedule with studies and practice and meets wont allow me. I depend on my mother to help only when she can. I would love to receive this scholarship to reduce stress on my mother with added expenses.

I am Currently a Sophomore in high school. I have always thought of myself as someone who would earn a full ride scholarship somewhere to play sports, but I realized that I do not want to play sports in college due to the idea that I need to focus more on work to acquire my dreams. I am interested in majoring as a Forensics Scientist, because I have always found myself in love with shows like Forensic Files. I love how they find out and piece together what really went down with all of the clues they fined. I would love to have some assistance in making it to a University to begin the life I have always imagined.

I am an upcoming Senior and am looking for some assistance to ensure that I am able to further my education. I want to be able to attend college at an affordable price for my low-income family and make sure we are as least in debt as possible. I like to spend my time drawing, singing, and acting, as well as volunteering my time to the community whenever I am free. I would like to use this scholarship towards my college fund in any way possible, whether it be tuition, books, or room and board. I would really like to ease the financial stress my parents will have to face for my college expenses, and any bit helps. Thank you for your consideration.

I am an incoming high school senior that is in need for monetary assistance because of the lower income in my family and the limited contributions we can make as one entity. I have a 3.92 GPA, participate in many clubs and volunteer for various activities in my school, while being involved with my community and picking up new hobbies frequently. This money would help me be able to get a kick start at the new university of my choice and let me be able to focus on school as a whole, and not have to worry constantly about my financial situation in college.

Kendal Jackson  on 6/29/2020 1:40:42 PM

I am currently a junior in high school with not much time left to save up for college. I am looking for financial assistance to pursue a career I am incredibly passionate about in Health Science. My goal is to take part in a system that is aimed towards healing people. I was raised in a difficult situation as a kid and through those circumstances, I have come to recognize the importance of human connection through medicine. I currently have a 3.7 GPA on a 4.0 scale. This scholarship could put me even closer to my goal of being that figure kids can put faith in as their doctor. I would greatly appreciate any help I could receive through this program.

I am still a senior in high school and looking forward to going to college and have the ability to pay for my tuition and textbooks, the reason why I need this scholarship is because I cant have a job or provide money to continue my goals I hope its understandable, this scholarship would also be helpful for me to take the the graduate exam and to start off as a freshmen in college.

I am an ESL and senior student at Greenwich High School, CT. Two years ago I moved to the United States. In these two years, I have worked very hard in all my classes. I have managed to overcome many problems that appeared to me as a new language. I have managed to adapt to the radical change of living in a new country and a new educational system. I have a strong GPA (4.27). During my first year of high school in the United States, I became a member of the Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society) and the Spanish Honor Society. I have also won many academic awards (Math, Science, and ESL Awards) during the two years of high school. The academic achievement I am most proud of was being named to the Top Honor Roll because it was the reward for all my effort and long hours of study. This achievement shows that although I have been in the United States for a short time, I have greatly improved my academic level and learned English. I came to this country to fulfill all my goals and dreams. Ever since I was a child, I had dreamed of studying at a university in the United States. I never imagined that the opportunity to study at an American college would present itself. I would like to study biology and then study in medical school. However, my mother cannot afford my higher education. She has a lot of expenses and has to take care of my three younger brothers. For this reason, I am applying for scholarships to fulfill my dreams. I know that by studying hard I will be able to help my family in the future.

The opportunity that I have been granted at Brooklyn College in fall 2020 for an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science marks the first step that helps me be part of the few trailblazing women in my country. To reach my goals, I need as much help as possible. My family and guardians are fully backing my dream, but that’s not quite enough to make my dream come true .In addition to my regular job, I am a volunteer sports physiotherapist for a social welfare backed soccer club in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya that helps to hone their talent and eventually get absorbed into foreign clubs .I need as much help as possible to reach my goal to be the to-go health and fitness consultant. I hope that your organization can help me reach this dream by awarding me your scholarship. Having obtained a GPA of 3.8 in my associate degree ,I strongly feel I can do better.

Hello, I am an upcoming senior class of 2021 looking to pursue a higher education. My family will not be helping me pay for college expenses and I am really hoping this scholarship will help me in any way. I plan on going to a four year university to receive a good education to reach my goal of becoming a registered nurse. I will become the first person in my family to attend college and have a career. My family struggles with expenses and I hope one day I can make them proud and help them struggle less more. Thank you.

I am a rising senior in high school. I am the daughter of a single immigrant mother. my mother stopped her dreams to ensure I was able to get everything I needed. I plan on going to college with a business major. I have always excelled in school. even when I barely knew any English. I really want to make my mom proud and I don't want her to keep paying for my expenses. Some assistance would mean so much to me. Thank you!

I am a senior at the 4th top ranked high school in the nation (School for Advanced Studies) who strictly takes dual-enrollment and Advanced Placement courses. I am looking at several Ivy Leagues to attend during Fall 2021 but need the financial assistance considering I am one of five children to my hard-working single mother. I am currently working on my application to intern at my local children's hospital as well as a job that tutors primary school children solely in math. Although I must balance a heavy workload and helping my family push through, I maintain good grades in hopes to provide a better future for them in the long-run. Being a biology major on a pre-medical track is difficult but I have the resilience; I must only find the proper financial aid to get me a step closer at achieving my dreams and making my family proud. This scholarship could do just that, and for that I am more than grateful!

I am a mother of 3 beautiful girls pursuing a Bachelors In Accounting and Finance with a dream to complete an Associates in Spanish and Sign Language. Spanish has always been a language I admired as it is a beautiful language and sign language has always been interesting. I love working with number and my passion is helping others, so much that 2 years ago I was 3 months away from graduating in a degree I settled for but did not love with debt I accumulated through student loans and so overwhelmed with the inability to properly take care of my children and myself I made the difficult decision to drop out. For two years I crafted time management and mental health as well as just enjoyed the ability to be a stay-at-home mother to my beautiful girls. Now I pursuing a degree I was meant to pursue the entire time and I am doing it for myself, my dreams, and my goals. It is finally my time to finish what I started all those years ago. I often as, “what is your WHY?” My WHY is to be an inspiration to myself, my girls, and many others whose dreams don’t go as planned or as quickly as expected but having the grit, perseverance, and focus to keep pushing forward instead of giving up it is never too late to do what is necessary to achieve your dreams.

I'm going into junior year of high school in Pennsylvania, this is the year where I get to decide where I want to go. Since I'm from a family that has a hard time working. I don want to put more pressure on them with college expenses. Receiving this scholarship would mean te wold to me because I always had a dream to help kids in need. By going to places were getting medical attention is nearly impossible. Since I was little I used to watch news of doctors who are heroes, I wanted to be like them and the only way possible is to go to Temple University. Sadly since of the circumstances, I am in, I don't think this would be possible. So I am hoping that my getting this scholarship some of the tension would go away. This scholarship means a lot to me. Thank you.

Katy D  on 6/17/2020 11:19:57 AM

I'm an incoming college freshman living in Alabama. My major is secondary education, and I hope to get my Master's and Doctorate as well. I come from a middle class family in a town where one in four children live in poverty. Most of the kids at my high school require free and reduced lunch, and many of them will not go to college because of the cost. My father was one of these kids when he was young - he came from a poor farmer's family and did not complete college. I've seen how kids in low socioeconomic positions struggle. I hope to become a teacher in a community like mine, so that I can help students believe in themselves and aspire to do better. I'm grateful that my parents could give me comforts my peers never had, but I don't want them to feel obligated to help me with the burden of paying for college. They're older and my father has several health problems, so I want them to be able to focus on themselves.

I am an upcoming sophomore in college this Fall 2020. I am fit for this assistance because my family and I are having a financial hardship. My mother's salary is not enough for us, my father does not work because he is disabled. I work at a fast food restaurant but I do not have much hours because I need to give time for my studies as I am pre-majoring in nursing. This extra cash will help me buy a new computer that I can use for my classes, since we are now in an online class due to the pandemic. I do my best to earn good grades and also to help my parents out by not asking them money for school related stuff. I am hoping that I will be selected to this wonderful opportunity. Thank you.

I am 49 years old and going back to school to finish my degree after 30 years. I entered into recovery from alcoholism almost 6 years ago and after working the 12 steps I have learned to finish tasks and follow through that which I started. It is time to finish what I started so many years ago, my Psychology degree. My dilemma is that living paycheck to paycheck leaves little money left for higher education and its many added expenses. That has led me here to seek assistance with said added expenses...the books or a tutor if needed, it has been decades since I have been in a classroom after all. Recovery, the 12 steps and my Higher Power have given me the willingness to go back to school, now I am in need of the means to get there.

I would appreciate this scholarship so much . Thank you.

Octavio G.  on 6/12/2020 11:35:49 AM

I must face the abyss but I must not let it consume me. I am going into my junior year (2020-2021) this fall, and I must make it a responsibility of mine to prepare for college tomorrow (figuratively). I must rely on my efforts to pay for the institution and mechanical engineering major. The question still remains, 'why am I going to college to study the MEng program?'. Mathematics has been my greatest adversary where as of recently I found its beauty in equations and need for problem solving. It would be incredibly gratifying to solve complex problems using the tools of today. Building small machines was my little hobby and since I can combine it with the challenges of math, I will satisfied with my efforts and accomplishments of each project. Just like any other student in search of aid, I come from a life with little to no financial stability. With this or any other scholarship I can face my challenges head on and come out the other side with the opportunity to change my community for the better.

My textbooks will be expensive. I am applying for this scholarship to help with the cost of said textbooks. I work all summer and weekends during the school year. I make quite a bit of money and put it into a college fund bank account to save it. This scholarship would help me with that cost. I have the potential to go far and I believe that this scholarship will help me reach my total potential of my dreams. Thank you.

I am now a senior in high school (class of 2021), and currently trying to find the needs to be able to attend college and pay for expenses such as books and more needs. This is a great headstart for the time that I go to college because right now, my family is struggling to pay for a family of five with only one person working. My mom and dad have provided so much for me and hopes for me to go to college and I want to contribute to all my college expenses. I do try to work out with what I can to be able to pay for everything and find different resources and this is definitely a place to start.

I am going to be a sophomore in college and am needing financial assistance after transferring schools my freshman year, making it necessary that it will now take me 5 years to graduate college, which is a financial hit. Along with COVID-19 making finances more difficult for my family.

Baylie English  on 6/3/2020 11:53:57 AM

I am a sophomore in college and need assistance with paying for books and my loans off. I have two jobs at the moment, trying to make ends meet. My parents are divorce and my dad doesn't pay child support so it makes it even more challenging to come up with money myself. I have two brothers, one in college, and one still in high school. My mom only has the money to pay for the necessities and so I have to come up with money myself. Plus, my brothers and I have been in and out of the hospital because of medical conditions so paying off medical bills and loans are difficult. I make good grades and I'm a nursing student so very busy with school on top of two jobs. Even the smallest amount, would go a long way, and mean the world to me. Thank you for this opportunity, whatever happens is Gods plan, and I trust this will go a long way for someone in need.

My family is in the middle class, so even though we have enough money to live, most of the money goes to food and house costs. I dream to be a midwife one day, but I'm stressed about the costs of college/getting into college. If I won, I would use the money to buy myself a good computer and recourses that can help me get a better score on my SAT and or ACT.

I want to be an RN Nurse or a Pediatrician when I get more established it has consistently been my fantasy to assist take with the minding of others. I'm as of now taking AP classes to get me out with school. This Scholarship would mean everything to me if I was chosen as a victor. My parents came into the US with nothing but hope of a better life and opportunities for their children. I am hoping to be the first person in my family to graduate college. I am a good student with big dreams, dreams that require a lot of schooling that my parents can't afford. Money has always been tight in my family and I don't want the cost of college to be what stops me from achieving my goal. This scholarship could bring me one step closer to making myself and my parents proud.

I am looking for assistance for the Fall of 2020 for my sophomore year at Morgan State University. Currently, I am working towards getting my Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. I ended my freshman year with a cumulative GPA of 4.5 and participating in numerous on-campus and off-campus organizations such as Females United to Uplift Reshape & Educate, Society of Women Engineer, National Society of Black Engineers, American Society of Civil Engineer, FCCLA, and more. One of my biggest goals, after I obtain my degree, is to encourage other females to take a chance at STEM-related professions to later have a societal impact. I have already started by occasionally going back to my high school in Chicago and speaking with the students on my path of becoming a engineer.

For the longest time I’ve dreamed of art school. The tuition alone is daunting, but there are other expenses I’ll need, such as expensive art supplies required for my classes. Receiving this would be a tremendous help in being able to focus on paying the tuition to even attend, and further my guaranteed shaky beginning as a professional artist.

I applied for this scholarship, because I want to make sure that I am preparing myself for the college expenses. I am only a sophomore and I am going to be a junior in the 2020-2021 school year, but if I could get this assistance and be able to use it for my college expenses, that would be wonderful. My parents have enough money to be able to support me with my needs, but when it comes to college and how much money it is overall, it is not assured that they will be able to help me in full context. Therefore, this assistance would be greatly appreciated, in the ways that it would help me buy textbooks and potentially get me extra help in my classes.

I am 33-year-old mom of three, I am also the Director of Administrative Operations for a small oilfield company. My husband and I both are in oil and gas. I am currently furloughed and looking like I will be laid off in the near future. With the current and past state of oil and gas and longing to always be a nurse, I am finally going to pursue that dream!

I am an ambitious young lady. My major will be criminal law and my minor is aviation. My passion to grow and dominate my work field comes from the bitter people around me. They have taught me life's not meaningful unless you give it your all. In that regardless, high dreams comes with a high prices(evquavilanet exchange) and I am prepared to withstand all obstacles. :)

This mont is my final month as a Junior and to begin my senior year I want to win this scholarship. I have been looking and applying to various scholarships, yet I have not had the chance to win any. As months go by I have been feeling hopeless of winning any, however, if I win this scholarship I am hoping that it'll give me the foundation and optimism to apply to more scholarships. With this money I see it as a way to start my independent living off campus and a beacon of positivity.

Lariana P  on 5/14/2020 6:08:22 PM

I will be a upcoming senior this year and this scholarship would be a great deal of help not only for me but my family both mentally and financially. It would give me a chance to ot only make myself proud but my parents who have given so much up so I could have a bright future.

Jason Hernandez  on 5/13/2020 4:36:46 PM

I am a college freshman proceeding further into my education by attending a community college but I require financial assistance for continuation in the future. Obtaining the money this scholarship holds would be a good beginning, since Covid-19 has been occuring the income for my home has been decreasing. We are already trying to save as much as we could while only paying for important needs, paying out of pocket for my upcoming online classes during summer would worsen any financial situations my household is carrying. I hope I can prevent that outcome by receiving this money. If that chance isn't available then I'm understanding of it because other people need it too.

Claire P.  on 5/13/2020 11:24:54 AM

Receiving this scholarship money would be very helpful as I want to pressure a career that requires 6 years of school. I do come from okay money, but nothing extravagant. But am on my own as my mother cannot afford to pay for my long years of college. I am grateful to get this opportunity to apply. Thank you for giving students a chance to earn money.

Cynthia V.  on 5/12/2020 12:17:11 AM

I am a freshman in high school just starting early on this whole college thing. Everyone here is probably wondering why a freshman in high school is already applying for scholarships but I know that the earlier I start the less I'll have to worry about money later in the future. I don't want to be a burden to my parents, asking for money because I know that it's super expensive so I plan to work and start saving up money when it's possible for me to work. I am very involved in school, with Student Government, sports and I have good grades. Thank you.

I am a 45 year old woman who decided to pursue grad school. This money will help fund part of the necessities I will need, such as books. The current pandemic not only paused our economy, it hurt my family financially. This scholarship will relieve some of the stress I will be facing.

Alicia G.  on 5/7/2020 1:46:37 PM

I am a college sophomore, who will be going to a four year university the upcoming Fall semester. I plan to continue my education and obtaining a degree in Clinical Psychology. Psychology has always interested me and I have always wanted to work in the medical field, my cousin introduced me to this course and I immediately knew this is what I wanted. I am seeking assistance because I come from a low-income family. I don't want to burden my parents with my financial burdens, because I know they won't hesitate despite their own financial struggles. I have maintained good grades and work a part-time job at my college to be able to pay for my tuition. A part from working I also volunteer at my local library and read to little kids, it's just something that keeps me from worrying about every aspect that is life. Thank you for helping students who need financial assistance and helping them achieve their dreams .

Brian-Henry S.  on 5/7/2020 12:42:45 PM

I am a high school freshman looking for as many scholarships that I can get for my age. I have started looking for scholarships because I feel like I should start early to get as many as I can. I have really big dreams and if I want to pursue them I have to save money and that means I have to get scholarships to pay off my university so I can invest on my dream. So I feel if I am able to get at least the littlest of scholarships and just stack them I fell that by when I graduate I will have enough to pay for most of my college. My dream is to have a car manufacturing company just like Elon Musk. To be able to do this I need lots of money so I need to start early so I can be successful. When I saw this scholarship I knew I had to apply because as a high school freshman I don"t always get lots of chances to apply for any big scholarships.

Sanaa J.  on 5/6/2020 8:59:30 AM

Winning this scholarship money would be a great deal for me and would make a positive difference. This money would help my accomplish my goal of attending college in Fall of 2020. Growing up I’ve always had a huge dream of become a Cardiothoracic Surgeon. This would ultimately help me pusher my dreams. Thank you for giving students this opportunity.

I'm currently a junior in high school in California. This scholarship says it aids with textbook finances and others that are included. Considering this i'm very interested due to the lack of financial standing in my household. I'm trying really hard to be the best I can and go to college for my family. I want to prove something and I believe the extra money given with this scholarship can help me. Thank you for this.

I am currently a junior in highschool, looking for any and every scholarship possible to help me pay for my big dreams. Going into my junior year of college, I am looking for financial aid to help pay for schooling. I am looking at buying a car to get me to my school out of state but between my car, other expenses and saving up for schooling, I am trying to get as many scholarships and financial aid as I can.

I am a senior in high school and I am struggling to get into a college. I have seemingly aimlessly applied for as many loans, grants, and scholarships but I am having no luck. I don't think that I will be able to attend a college or university this year but if I keep at this maybe something will come up. Thank you for the opportunity.

Tiffany M  on 4/30/2020 12:11:36 PM

Currently, I am a freshman enrolled at Converse University. I have pushed myself extremely hard to get where I am today. I applied to numerous scholarships and ended up getting my 1st year of college completely paid off. In Fall 2019, I took on 18 credits. It was very difficult, but I worked day and night to keep my GPA above a 3.0. I struggled a lot during that time with my mental health. I had many breakdowns and manic episodes, so I didn't overwhelm myself with so many classes after. However, many of my scholarships only applied for my first year and I'm unsure how I will make it work. I would appreciate any assistance, but I know there are lots of people in the world who may need it more than me.

Eliza S.  on 4/29/2020 8:20:48 PM

I am a 2nd year student attending UC Merced, going into school I knew it was going to be expensive but not 47k a school term. Thankfully, my tuition was paid for by financial aid, but I still needed to buy things for school, such as books, online codes, etc. I worked a lot doing the summer and was able to use that money to buy my necessities, but school is very time consuming and it got harder for me to manage work and school. I am still working but it's difficult and I would really appreciate any help from scholarship sources. I still have a long journey throughout school, about 8-9 years, and I will continue to strive for my career, but I do need help and I know I can't do it all by myself. Thank you, best wishes.

I will be a senior in high school this fall and I hope to extend my education by attending college with the help of this scholarship. I plan to start off at a community college and work my way up to earn a Bachelor's so that I can become a skin specialist. I've always struggled with deciding what my future career would come out as, but I believe that the with education needs and resources met, I can turn my dream into reality!

Alexandra G.  on 4/28/2020 11:51:57 PM

I am currently a senior in high school and applying for the scholarship because of my current financial situation. I live with my single dad who has raised me to be goal-oriented and determined. With that he cannot afford to pay for my dream college unless we go into student loan debt. I would use the scholarship to pay for textbooks and enrollment fees but that is only the tip of the iceberg. I want to make my father proud and do everything in my control to help out with our financial situation in order for me to go to my dream college. I am a 3.0 student, ran varsity track for four years, and also juggled a job on the side. I want to accomplish all of my goals, including going to my dream college. Thank you!

I want to help children and people who are abuse physically and mentally cuz I've been there and I know the feeling of it.

I am looking for assistance to assure that I am able to attend the Culinary Institute of America in Fall 2021. My family has made it very clear that I will not be able to receive any help from them, as they do not currently have the income to do so. However, I am not eligible for grants. I must be able to pay for my schooling 100%. I currently have a 3.6 weighted GPA, am involved in varsity volleyball and lacrosse, and work part time at a banquet hall. I have been saving money for a long time in order to go to college, but I am unsure if it will be enough. Thank you.

I am currently a sophomore in high school. I wanted to start looking for scholarships now, so that I don't have to pay debts or loans later in life. My plan for my career is to be in the medical field, whether a nurse practitioner, a pediatrician, or a doctor. My family is a little low on money so by getting this scholarship, it will be a great help to add to my savings. I maintained honors throughout the year, my average is never lower than a 92, and I take AP classes. My situation may not be as bad as someone else's, pertaining to needing this scholarship, but it would be a great and needed help for myself and my family if I were to win this scholarship.

I am taking many advanced classes and I have achieved a high gpa throughout my high school career. As an immigrant, school and getting good grades is my number one priority. The only obstacle in my way is money and student loans. I hope to get as much help as I can to attend a 4 year university, and to build myself a better life.

I am a high school senior and plan on attending Universiy of Brideport for a 4 year program in Nursing. I will be paying for my college without any contribution from my parents as they are unable to help me. This money would help me afford other things besides tuition such as my textbooks, equipment, fees, etc. I hope to be the first person in my family to graduate from college, to complete my nursing program, and further my education in the field of women's health. If not used for college related purposes, I would use it to further my job as an EMT, which I am currently taking a class for. I cannot wait to get through nursing to delve into the medical field, so I would buy some much needed equipment and a uniform.

I am currently a freshman Elementary Education major at Clemson University and will be continuing my studies in the fall of 2020. I currently live in a single-parent low-income home and am not able to receive support from my family. Thanks to the many donations and scholarships offered to me in high school I was able to afford my first year at Clemson. I have finished my first semester with a 3.46 GPA and plan to finish my second semester with a higher GPA. I have been involved in various clubs and organizations around campus such as the Student Funding Board and the Black Student Union. I have also been featured on the college of education social media page for my outstanding contributions and involvement on campus. This scholarship will help me continue my education and get me to move closer to accomplishing my goal of becoming an elementary teacher. The need for teachers in high in the United States and I would love to help close that gap. I am interested in becoming a teacher because I believe that everyone should have a fair chance of being able to read on grade level and need teachers who are willing to take their time and be patient with those who need a little more help. With money not only will I be supported but so will the first-grade student who is struggling to learn how to read.

I am a current high school senior who plans to major in bio at a four-year university to become a physician. I am an excellent student with a 4.0 gpa. I am applying fo this scholarship to help cover the cost of necessary textbooks for classes. I want to do everything I can to help my parents pay for college since I have two younger sisters who will be attending college in a few years as well. Although I really hope I am chosen for this scholarship, I know there are many other applicants who are deserving of it. I hope whoever is chosen puts it to good use, which I certainly would. Thank you for your consideration.

For most of my life, I knew I wanted to be someone who made a significant change in the world. My younger brother was born with autism, and it significantly impacted my family. The idea of this scholarship is in the title of itself, “dream”. My dream is to help other disabled children in finding their goals and pursuing it! In order to do so, I applied to many different schools in which I received acceptances shortly after. However, the college I chose happens to be a private institution that gives me the best head start in achieving my goals. This college, due to it being private, is very very expensive. I’m hoping that this scholarship will be able to help me supply for the textbooks and dorms needed for this University. I am determined to work hard and help those in need.

I am a senior in high school looking for some financial assistance to fulfil my dream of becoming a Physical Therapist. I am truly excited to be attending college in the Fall of 2020, but I do worry about making payments. I have decided to not take any loans but instead to work and pay it right then and now ( with payment plans), so I can get a head start once I graduate and not worry about being in extreme debt. I am very determined and focused but I just need a little help. Thank you for this opportunity.

I am currently a senior in the state of Virginia. I am looking forward to win this scholarship, because I need the money to pay for my college that I am hoping to attend this fall. College is very expensive that my parents can’t afford since they don’t get paid that much. They work extra hours to provide food and clothing. They sacrifice for my siblings and I to give us the best education. I work hard at school so I can continue my academic after high school. I want to succeed in life by becoming a future Dermatologist. With the help of this money, it will change my life and help with my career.

I am a junior in high school and truly want to go college outside of PA because I been here my whole life. I want to explore more and going to a college outside of the state is more expensive since I want to go to medical school to become a physician assistant . With this scholarship it would help me with travel expensive and little things I would need along the way that my family or I wouldn't have to worry about because of the scholarship. I am a great student , always have good greats , part of the student council, on my high schools track team , and a member of the African american history club, have the experience to play 3 different instruments , and overall a helpful person that helps with little things around the school. I appreciate the opportunity. Thank You

Isabella M  on 4/6/2020 10:26:00 PM

I did apply for this scholarship. I think it is a very promising scholarship as it values expenses that are often overlooked. It looks past the bigger picture and focuses on the smaller essentials that add up in the long run.

Markeysha D.  on 4/6/2020 4:29:48 PM

I am currently an 11th highschool student who plans to attend a four year University and major in nursing. My current financial status for college is nowhere near enough. As if I don't already have pay for room and board and tuition, I also have to pay for my textbooks and other essentials. This scholarship would help me a lot because my parents do not have enough money to even save up for my college funds. With this scholarship I would be able to go on to University with one step closer to my goal.

Alissa Daley  on 4/3/2020 4:35:36 PM

The reason why i'm applying for this scholarship is because im hopes of getting a jumpstart on college expenses. I hope to accomplish many things in my life, but most importantly, I would like to make my family proud so that they know that all of their sacrifices were worth it.Even though i don't graduate till 2022 i'm still working hard to get what i want in life and this is one thing i'm working for is to get this scholarship and if i get this scholarship im going to keep working hard. I believe that i would be a good candidate for this scholarship because I will excel even when college is challenging.

As a family of immigrants, my parents are the reason for everything I have been able to achieve. Without their aspirations, I would not be able to strive for the degree that I am currently seeking. This fall, I will be attending the University of Texas at Austin as a Biology major, and am pursuing the pre-medical field in hopes of becoming a Pediatric Hematologist. My sister, who is currently attending the University of Texas at Tyler, and my dad are the only ones who support our family, as my mom technically works alongside my dad without any true income. I am currently obtaining my CNA degree and hope to work while I am enrolled in college to help pay for my tuition. I, therefore, would wish for the committee to consider my statement regarding my financial circumstances and help me in achieving my goals. Thank you!

I am a freshmen college going to be a sophomore in the fall of 2020. My major is Biology. I am the first generation to go to college. I am independent , I am in need of scholarships. I believe that receiving this scholarship would help me a lot with my intuition and books. My parents don't have jobs that are stable, my parents receive less that the income that the state requires. My parents cannot help me with my college intuition because they barely have enough to pay bills and food , money is tight right now for my family and i. I am involve in many stuff such as my community and church, I am in a fashion club at my college because i love fashion and i also like to help the community and my church. Thank you

My life is in my hands. My rough yet soft hands hold the opportunity I can contain. I am a 13-year-old girl, living in an immigrant family, trying to reach the expectations my parents set for me. I WILL become a doctor. I WILL be successful. But only if my hands don't tremble. My grades stay steady at a mediocre A, but my knowledge expands further than what is shown on a mere report card. And my brain explodes every night with ideas to help my community. Getting this scholarship would be one step closer to proving myself and succeeding.

I am a senior in high school and will be attending college this Fall. I could really use some financial help. I live with my mom who works all day and two younger brothers. I work four days a week and babysit my brothers when I am not at work or school. I started working last summer in order to save up for college, but with COVID-19 my job has been shut down. I was planning on dorming as it has always been my dream but money is very tight at the moment and I could really use any extra financial help.

I am taking all advantages of scholarships right now as a senior since I need money to stay in the school I want and committed to I don't want to have to downgrade due to money problems. I plan on running track in college as well, so if I don't end up with enough money I may have to leave the school and go to one more affordable. Praying these opportunities open up for me, I take care of my work and what needs to be done to better my future. I appreciate this chance to bring in more money for my college career.

I just want to help them all I can. My goal is to get a degree in biology and further my education into nursing. Please consider me for these funds and I will use it responsibly to prepare for college!!

I am a graduating senior, and am beyond excited for college! Having another sibling who is already in college, it is going to be a lot on my family to pay for both our tuitions. With this new virus spreading, my mother's job is a little unstable right now. It would be a weight taken off of all our backs if money was not an issue for my education. It would mean so much to me and my family thank you!

Hi, I am a freshman at the University of Texas at Austin, and though I am already in college, I am struggling financially and seek the assistance of scholarships to help. I was recently sent home from school due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and I had to leave behind belongings, dorms, meal plans, and textbooks under short-notice. While I will be able to get all of these things back, there is a huge financial impact that this situation has left on my family. Due to our middle class standing and mediocre income, on paper I do not appear to require financial assistance. However, I worked part time my first and second semester of college to try to help the financial burdens on my family, but now I am left unemployed while learning from home.

I am currently a high school senior in the state of Georgia. I plan to go out of state to attend a four year college and major in Kinesiology. I do live in a single parent household, so I have to depend a lot on scholarships to attend my dream school. Receiving this scholarship will help me get started going into first year of college.

Matthew M.  on 3/28/2020 3:00:21 PM

I am hoping to receive enough financial aid to assure that the only thing I have to worry about in college is my studies. I do not qualify for financial aid, so right now I need all the assistance I can get. I have worked very hard throughout my education to keep my grades and GPA at a good level and hope that my dedication to studies is proof that I will use this money responsibly. Thank you.

Martha S  on 3/28/2020 2:08:22 PM

I am entering this scholarship, as a senior at Montclair High School. I come from a family background where no one has an education that is higher than a High school diploma. Therefore, I am a first-generation student, which puts me at a great disadvantage. I am not gonna receive the extra help that freshman college students receive from their families. My family has struggled for years financially, therefore I had to set-up to help my family financially. I had to get a job as a high school Senior, which has been really challenging for me. I had to learn how to manage my time because I am in three AP classes, Avid, and part of the girl's varsity soccer team. Therefore, I believe that I would be a great candidate for this scholarship. The money for this scholarship could help me pay for my college expenses. I would be very grateful to receive this scholarship because it would open up new doors for my education.

Meghan W.  on 3/27/2020 5:58:35 PM

I am a freshman in college looking to further my education by getting a bachelors and a masters degree. Since I was sixteen I have had two jobs. Whether it was a hostess or a groundskeeper it was not easy. I was fortunate enough to help raise money for my first year of college. However, with not being able to get a job in Boston and losing my job at home I have been scraping money together for next years expenses. My first semester I got a 3.92 GPA as a biology major. Due to the uncertainty of my summer job because of the corona virus there will be no way to save up money for my expenses at college- books, apartment, and meal plan. I am a very hard working student and if you give this scholarship to me you will not regret it:) Thank you.

Iyana R.  on 3/27/2020 2:43:48 PM

I applied for this scholarship because I need the extra money to be able to pay for books or add it to my meal plan. I want to know that I will never need for nothing once I get to college and that I won't be struggling to pay for certain things. I'm not afford to ask for help if I need it and this is me asking for help applying to many scholarships as I can.

Caden O.  on 3/26/2020 1:29:13 PM

I am looking for assistance to assure that I will be able to attend school Fall 2020. I am a senior in high school and have a significant change in our family dynamics, so the assistance that I was hoping to get, was made clear in the last year, will not be possible. I have good grades, am involved and work weekends to save money but am unsure if it will be enough, so am hoping this would help me get going. I have the will but need to find my way. Thank you.

I am a senior in high school looking to further my education by going to college but need financial help to continue my goal, with my unfortunate situation i live with my grandparents trying to get all the help I can receive.

Talyssa M  on 3/25/2020 2:07:51 AM

Receiving this scholarship money would be a great start towards paying off my college loans. I'm a senior in High School, in the state of Arkansas, and this has been the most expensive school year of my life. My family is middle class meaning: I have food, clothes on my back, and a place to lie my head at night, but with my family being in the middle class bracket, it is assumed that I don't need assistance with finances. My mother is a teacher in Arkansas that gets paid less than the work she does, and it's just not enough to help with my college expenses. I would say I hope that I'm selected for this opportunity, but if its not in my favor I will accept it. Thank for opening doors for us conquers.

I am a high school senior who plans on attending a four year university with a major in nursing and a minor in criminal justice. I am applying for the scholarship to help pay for my books for my degree, nursing and criminal justice require several science and history textbooks that can be more expensive. By having the money from the scholarship I would be able to ensure that I could pay for my textbook materials in order to take my classes.

I am a 29 year old father to 3 children. I am looking to finally take a step in life to show my kids that if you put your mind to it, it can be done. I am the first one in my family to ever attend any type of college, and cannot wait to get started.

Felix S.  on 3/21/2020 3:00:46 PM

I am a third year in college, ready to transfer out. My major is Computer Science with a minor in Business Marketing. My goal it to pursue a career in cyber security, or web development. Currently I am considering San Diego State University or San Francisco State University, and the scholarship would aid in living expenses, room and board. My overall gpa is a 3.0 in college and in high school I maintained a 3.7 gpa. Financial aid can only cover so much and any funds would help greatly.

Casey C.  on 3/20/2020 7:20:15 PM

I am freshman enrolled in a college that is out of state and on the opposite side of the country. Transportation fares add up along with paying for housing/groceries etc. It is hard adjusting to a new life where I have to learn to be completely independent without the help of my family. I have only completed one semester so far and it was a struggle having to pay for many things such as tuition (out of pocket), when that money could have been used for food, clothes (winter clothes specifically) and many others. Though there are many other deserving applicants, any money is helpful.

Katrina Lind  on 3/20/2020 2:11:03 PM

I'm a high school senior, class of 2020 in Nebraska . I'm really wanting to be the first person in my family to go to a four year college. I want to be a Spanish teacher or a translator/ interpreter for government agencies. I can't afford four years, or even one- two years of college ( general education classes) on my own. And I really don't want to be worried about if i can afford college, while I'm attending it. Even just a little help will go a long way.

Muna Kamara  on 3/18/2020 4:01:35 PM

I am currently a sophomore in high school. I am applying for this scholarship because I want to be the first person in my family to go to college. And with this money, I can start saving up. I want to be a pediatric cardiologist and to do that, I want to go to a really good university. I am currently taking honors and AP classes. I know this scholarship will help me get a headstart on my career.

Elexa Richardson  on 3/18/2020 3:22:16 PM

I am a high school junior in Dallas, Texas. My goal is to attend a four year university and later go on to medical school. I came from a very blessed household and I wanted to take some weight off my parents since they have blessed me with allowing me to attend private school all my life and never going without anything I wanted.

Kayla R  on 3/17/2020 2:28:19 PM

I am a high school senior looking to further my education at a four-year university. I plan on majoring in Elementary Education and becoming a teacher to help low-income students. I applied for this scholarship because coming from a family of six sometimes money is really tight and I could use some funds to pay for school.

I'm currently in need for this scholarship to help out with buying textbooks for the next two to three years at current college I'm attending. After those four years all be doing another four years at Pharmacy school. Financial aid isn't really doing much help with covering some of my expenses for school, so it would be a stress reliever if I had something to help pay for my books and other things I may need.

Sheena J  on 3/11/2020 8:00:49 PM

Currently I'm looking to obtain the funds for me to pursue a higher education at a four year university. I know, unfortunately, that financial aid won't cover all my college and I need the stability to properly focus on my major which is English with a minor in journalism.

Autumn M.  on 3/11/2020 7:39:39 PM

I will be a returning college student; I got pregnant and had a lot of complications. I lost my son December 2018 and finally going back to school. Its been a long journey, but I'm ready to finish my goal. I am tired of working a minimum wage job for little money. Its time for me to get back on my feet. I was in foster care my whole life and just want better. But its hard to make dreams work with low funds.

I am a sophomore in high school and I am applying to help offset the cost of attending Harvard University's Summer Pre-College Program. I was accepted into this tremendous program but I did not receive financial aid which I was counting on. I am applying for a scholarship here so I can hopefully still make my hard work in applying to Harvard's Pre-College Program and joy of being accepted in taking an astrophysics class this summer at Harvard work out where I can pay for it and attend.

I am currently a senir in high school, this scholarship would mean so much to me because it would give me money to help pay for out of state tuition. A huge reason why this scholarship would be so important to me is because this year my dad started college to be a family nurse practitioner and the last thing I want for him to be stressing about is paying for me to go to college. This scholarship would be such a big offer and help to me, so I can make my parents proud one day.

Taylor Caldwell  on 2/15/2020 1:37:50 PM

I'm currently in my first year of college and being a full-time student with 16 units. Along with school. I'm working part-time just to order the basic necessities of school supplies, gas to get to class, and paying for the classes myself. I grew up with a single mother because my father died when I was four years old. Although she gave me everything possible, she can't afford to pay the bills and send me to college herself. With that being said, spending the money I earned while working on tuition and this scholarship money for the things I need most importantly would help me greatly and relieve the stress of making ends meet.

As a freshman in high school, some might say that this is too early to start thinking about the cost of college. I'm grateful that I have parents that make sure we work together to choose a college and not to rely on student loans as the fall back to pay for college. My focus on my grades and recruitment for soccer will be hard work but worth it. I'm applying for this scholarship to aid in the extra costs to help ensure I reach those goals without debt.
