  • Scholarship Description
  • Many fields of employment are tied either directly or indirectly to the horse industry. Career path scholarships allow students to obtain a degree in areas such as racing, animal science, journalism, communications, therapeutic/adaptive riding and veterinary medicine. Support for students within these fields is imperative to the sustainability and advancement of our industry. Undergraduate, graduate or doctoral level degrees can be completed by students through these scholarship opportunities. Application materials must be postmarked. Applications sent by fax or email will not be accepted.

    The EAAT Hippotherapy Scholarship is for students who are current members of AQHA pursuing a career in hippotherapy through physical therapy, occupational therapy, and/or speech-language pathology. Related college majors include, but are not limited to, communication disorders, sports and exercise science, or kinesiology. Members should apply while enrolled as a sophomore at an accredited university or have been accepted into a related graduate program. Recipients must maintain a cumulative 2.5 GPA. Funding for this scholarship will be applied to a student's junior and senior year of an undergradate program, or a two-year graduate program.

Midway through his "It's OK to be White" speech at the University of Connecticut, Conservative commentator Lucian Wintrich was arrested and charged with attempted larceny and disorderly conduct after he grabbed a woman who had swiped his notes off his lectern. The charges have since been dropped and in a reversal, the woman was arrested and charged with attempted larceny and disorderly conduct.
