  • Scholarship Description
  • Through the years, music has been a force that has unifying powers. These powers speak to the human emotion, allowing order to transcend disorder and chaos and bring diverse cultures together for the betterment of humanity. Embracing this belief, the Arkansas Chamber Singers Vocal/Choral Music Scholarship is established with a mission in focus that will encourage and promote the art of choral music. It is expected that students will master the skills and acquire the knowledge that will lead to the highest quality of choral music performance in the state of Arkansas.

    To apply: Please return the application form to the appropriate address listed along with a sealed official transcript, a typewritten essay of at least 300 words (not to exceed 325 words) detailing your desire to have a career in the field of music, and supply three sealed letters of recommendation (one from your choral music teacher, one from another of your teachers, and one from a community leader).

    All applicants must attend an audition and interview on January 29 at Holy Souls Catholic Church. They must perform (from the classical genre) two selections of contrasting styles. It is requested that the applicants bring their own accompanists. If not able, please send music ahead for ACS accompaniment.
