The Builders League of South Jersey Scholarship Foundation has announced that scholarships are available for area students for the school year. Scholarships ranging to $2,000 will be awarded to students from southern New Jersey, who will be matriculating in an accredited post- secondary school and pursuing a course of study related to real estate and the construction industry.
To qualify for the scholarships, applicants must live in or attend school in either Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, or Salem counties. They must be pursing fields of real estate development and construction, including air conditioning, plumbing and heating technology, electrical, carpentry, design-build, construction materials handling, job site supervision, estimating, construction planning, surveying, construction information management, business management, construction management or technology or technology and CAD drafting.
The Scholarship Foundation was funded with a donation from the Home Builders Foundation, a community service entity established by the League in 1956 to help area residents in need and by special donations from its members. The Foundation hosts fundraising events throughout the year to support its scholarship program. Since 1995, the Scholarship Foundation has awarded more than $127,093 to area students.
Scholarships will be awarded as a tuition payment directly to the institution of higher education. Students may reapply for the scholarship each year, as long as they continue their course of study. Applications are available on the League website. Applicants are able to scan and submit their applications online. All applications must be submitted by April 30.
