  • Scholarship Description
  • The Central COast Chapter of the California Society of CPAs is proud to announce its Scholarship Award Program. Scholarships will be awarded to students with an interest in pursuing professional careers in the accounting field.

    Eligibility:
    -Enrolled in an accounting program or declared accounting major or area of concentration
    -Completed general education requirements with an overall GPA of 3.0, and a 3.25 in accounting courses
    -Applicants must be members of CalCPA (membership is free)
    -Applicants may not have applied for a concurrent CalCPA scholarship from another chapter
    -Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents

    Applicants must submit a written essay of approximately 300 words answering the following questions:
    1. What drew you to accounting?
    2. What are your goals and how do you plan to give back to the profession?
    3. Given that the award is intended to foster future excellence in the profession, why should you be awarded this scholarship?

Midway through his "It's OK to be White" speech at the University of Connecticut, Conservative commentator Lucian Wintrich was arrested and charged with attempted larceny and disorderly conduct after he grabbed a woman who had swiped his notes off his lectern. The charges have since been dropped and in a reversal, the woman was arrested and charged with attempted larceny and disorderly conduct.
