  • Scholarship Description
  • Folsom Garden Club is offering scholarships for the coming academic year.

    Eligibility:
    -Applicant must be a resident (permanent home address) of Placer, Sacramento, El Dorado or Yolo County.
    -Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) in order to apply.
    -Applicant must be a college student entering the sophomore, junior, or senior year at an accredited college or university. Freshmen may make application for the sophomore year.
    -Applicant must be majoring in : Horticulture, Floriculture, Landscape Design, Botany, Forestry, Agronomy, Conservation, Plant Pathology, Environmental Concerns and/or other related subjects.
    -Application Deadline - April 11th. Complete Application Package including Application Form, Official Transcripts, Applicants Letter, List of Activities, and Photo must be sent in one packet to the Folsom Garden Club Scholarship Chairman postmarked no later than April 11th
    -Awards notification - May 15th

Midway through his "It's OK to be White" speech at the University of Connecticut, Conservative commentator Lucian Wintrich was arrested and charged with attempted larceny and disorderly conduct after he grabbed a woman who had swiped his notes off his lectern. The charges have since been dropped and in a reversal, the woman was arrested and charged with attempted larceny and disorderly conduct.
