  • Scholarship Description
  • A Gerald V. Henderson Industrial Minerals Memorial Scholarship may be awarded to a student(s) who is a member of SME, attending any college or university of his or her choice in the US that provides the following: a geology, mining engineering, or minerals economics curriculum leading to a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. degree, and a faculty advisor with special interests in an industrial minerals-oriented program.

    Eligibility:
    -Have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
    -Be an SME student member in good standing
    -Attend a school that is ABET-accredited and/or has an SME Student Chapter
    -Demonstrate a desire for and a probability of success in a career in industrial minerals and/or aggregates industries
