  • Scholarship Description
  • This scholarship was established by the estate of Hazel McBride Engeseth. Mrs. Engeseth was a 1916 graduate of Valley City State Normal. She returned to Valley City State Teachers College between 1934-36 to further her education. Students receiving the McBride Scholarship must sign a Declaration of Intent to seek entry into the program of Teacher Education. A change in program of study will result in forfeiture of remaining scholarship amounts.

    Available scholarships for upper-level students:
    -20 scholarships divided as evenly possible between elementary and secondary majors with three set aside for minority students.
    -Several scholarships are available to freshman & transfer students levels. Eligibility depends on your GPA or ACT/SAT score.

    A special application form for returning students is required for upper-level McBride consideration.
