  • Scholarship Description
  • The Holland Scholarship is a result of Merle Hollan Leis Frenzel's love for music and students. She graduated with a degree in music education from Capital University and returned to Saginaw to teach choral music at North Junior High and then Arthur Hill High School. Later she received her counseling degree and completed her career in that field, retiring in 1997. The Holland Scholarship is dedicated to Norton and Virginia Holland, parents of Merle Holland Leis Frenzel, for their encouragement, love, and support.

    Eligibility:
    -Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA
    -Senior from Arthur Hill or Frankenmuth high schools
    -Must be a Saginaw County resident
    -Involvement in school choral program
    -Major in choral music or piano performance
    -Full-time enrollment
