  • Scholarship Description
  • The Joseph S. Murphy Scholarship Program is for students seeking an M.A. in Labor Studies or a B.A. in Urban and Community Studies, with a concentration in Labor. Awardees will receive up to $30,000 for graduate study or up to $20,000 for undergraduate study. Awards are offered in the fall semester of each academic year and are renewable, contingent on maintenance of good academic standing. Midway through his "It's OK to be White" speech at the University of Connecticut, Conservative commentator Lucian Wintrich was arrested and charged with attempted larceny and disorderly conduct after he grabbed a woman who had swiped his notes off his lectern. The charges have since been dropped and in a reversal, the woman was arrested and charged with attempted larceny and disorderly conduct.
