  • Scholarship Description
  • CenterPoint Energy has established a scholarship program to assist employees' children who plan to continue their
    education in college or vocational school programs. Renewable scholarships are offered each year for full-time study
    at an accredited institution of the student's choice.

    Eligibility:
    -Be dependent children, age 25 and under, of CenterPoint Energy eligible employees (active, retired, disabled, deceased while in service, or an LTD recipient) who have a minimum of three years of employment with the company by January 1
    of the year the student is applying for the scholarship
    -Be high school seniors planning to enroll full-time or working on and making satisfactory progress towards a degree or completion of a recognized course of study at an academically accredited institution (full-time is defined as at least 12 credit hours each semester and 24 credit hours in an academic year, or the equivalent in the event the institution uses a different measure of academic credit)
    -Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent if the institution uses a
    different scale for recording grades) for high school seniors and first and second year college applicants
    -Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent if the institution uses a different scale for recording grades) for third and fourth year college and graduate level applicants

Supreme Court Rules for Professor in Viral Blog Case
