  • Scholarship Description
  • The Charlotte McGuire Scholarship Program (CMGSP) was established in 1986 through a gracious gift to the American Holistic Nurses Association. Since 1987, the program has offered academic scholarships to undergraduate or graduate students in need of assistance to help them through their holistic nursing growth and education. These awards are presented at AHNA's annual conference in June each year.

    Undergraduate Nursing Student Awards are available to nurses who:
    -Have a current R.N. license
    -Are currently an active member of AHNA (for a minimum of 6 months)
    -Enrolled in an undergraduate academic setting dedicated to a practice of holistic nursing
    -Ability to incorporate self-care into personal and professional life
    -A demonstrated commitment to holistic nursing practice and its philosophical base?

    Graduate Nursing Student Awards are available to nurses who:
    -Have a current R.N. license
    -Are currently an active member of AHNA (for a minimum of 1 year)
    -Enrolled in a graduate academic setting dedicated to a practice of holistic nursing
    -Ability to incorporate self-care into personal and professional life
    -A demonstrated commitment to holistic nursing practice and its philosophical base
    -Proven commitment to advancing Holistic Nursing using Leadership Skills

Midway through his "It's OK to be White" speech at the University of Connecticut, Conservative commentator Lucian Wintrich was arrested and charged with attempted larceny and disorderly conduct after he grabbed a woman who had swiped his notes off his lectern. The charges have since been dropped and in a reversal, the woman was arrested and charged with attempted larceny and disorderly conduct.
