  • Scholarship Description
  • Each year the Society awards scholarships to qualified undergraduate and graduate full-time students. Applicants are eligible for a scholarship if they are currently attending or have been accepted by a college or university in Texas, have shown excellent scholastic performance in their corresponding field of study, and are of Hellenic heritage. The Society also accepts applications from students of non-Greek descent that have demonstrated clear, strong and sustained excellence in academic studies related to Greek letters or affairs.

    Students eligible for scholarships from HPST:
    -High school seniors of Hellenic origin, who have been accepted by a four-year college/university in Texas
    -Undergraduate students of Hellenic origin, enrolled in a four-year college/university in Texas
    -Graduate students of Hellenic origin, enrolled in a graduate program at a university in Texas
    -Students who are pursuing academic studies related to Greek letters or affairs at a university in Texas
    -Students that have shown excellent scholastic performance in their field of study, in all the above-mentioned categories

    Academic Requirements:
    1. High School graduates:
    -GPA of at least 3.5
    -Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) composite score of at least 1800, or, American College Testing (ACT) composite score of at least 27
    2. All other applicants:
    -Undergraduate GPA of at least 3.5
    -Graduate GPA of at least 3.5

Newbury College Closing Shortly After Enrolling Mount Ida Students

Before joining a group of small private liberal arts institutions that had to close its doors due to financial pressures and falling enrollment, Newbury College encouraged students from defunct Mount Ida College to transfer over. The hope was that the addition of students to Newbury's campus would be enough to allow the school to continue its educational mission. Blind NY Resident Suing 50 US Colleges

A blind New York resident is suing 50 colleges nationwide over the accessibility of their websites. According to Jason Camacho, the "colleges are in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act, as their websites are not accessible to people with disabilities." This is not the first time Camacho has sued higher education institutions over website accessibility. [...]
