Scholarship Description
Applicants must attend a architecture program in a school located in Illinois or Northwest Indiana and should submit conceptual perspective drawings or architectural renderings to scale. (minimum of 2 elevations). Categories may include: residential single family, multi-family, schools, hospitals, governmental, religious, health care, mixed commercial buildings, misc. (restaurants, theater, storm shelter, etc.). Components must be masonry. (block, brick, stone, or any combination thereof and include a short statement describing the design. Any intentions to its use may also be included.
Applicants should include name, email, phone number, and mailing address with submission and submit before September 15th. All Submissions may be emailed to the Masonry Advisory Council. All entries will be judged by the same architectural panel that will be judging Excellence in Masonry. All entries will be displayed at the Excellence in Masonry Awards evening at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago in December. Entrants will have the ability to attend the Awards evening. This is an excellent networking opportunity for them to meet Architects and Industry Professionals. The overall winner will be announced and recognized at the event with both an Excellence Award and $1,000 Educational Scholarship.
