Hello, this coming fall will be my last year at my junior college. I will have a degree in liberal arts. I have been in this same college for about 5 years on and off struggling. Bring a single mother of a 6 year old little girl it has been extremely hard to take care of her and find babysitters for her while I work and go to school. Because I live in a remote town my school is in another town also making transportation difficult. I plan on going to a university after this so I know my hard work will pay off but having extra money for school will help with school expenses.

I am a single mother to a energetic six year old little girl. I am currently working in Health Care at a local hospital. I am in school for nursing with only two classes left before I apply :) I work the overnight shift 7p to 7a so I am away from my daughter at night. I do not have any help. I am doing the best I can. I am currently working a little extra to get all the supplies and clothes we both need for school. I just want to say thank you for even making scholarships for single moms and giving us this oppurtunity. We try our best to be the best we can be and I know all my hard work will pay off in the end.

I am a monther of 1 child who has Noonan Sundrome. Because of her disability the last 2 years of her life has been in and out of the hospital for heat surgery and illnesses. With that I have been longing to go back to school to give her a better life than me working at Subway. I live with my parents because I can't afford housing alone with an income from Subway, and a schollarship single mothers would work greatly. Thank you for giving us si,god mom's another chance to show are children we can better ourselves for them.

I am on SSDI my income is less than $9,000 which I support 2 little children age 6 and 7 . After I pay my bills I'm grateful to have $25 for the rest of the month. I recently enrolled in college in a 4 year program For Applied Behavioral Science. My goal is to be able to remove myself from SSDI and having a career that isn't hindered by my disability. I will definitely be checking back for when this application comes up.

I am a single mother of three, I have two at the ages of 12 and 4 that are in school and attends at different times. My 2 year old stays at home with me in the day time because it is hard for me to pay for childcare and by me working part-time nights at Fed Ex this kind of saves me money. With other bills to pay as far as rent, mlgw, transportation (no vehicle), my school, and household needs, all help is needed.

Katie W  on 7/31/2013 5:41:27 PM

$22,000 for a family of three is not enough when your a single mother. Not only do I have rent and daycare (for work), but then to try and pay for school too? This requirement is the only reason why I don't qualify for this scholarship.
