  • Scholarship Description
  • The purpose of the scholarship is to recruit excellent librarians for Georgia and provide financial assistance toward completing a Master's degree in library science. The recipient must be completing the senior year in an accredited college or university or be a graduate of such an institution and must be accepted or enrolled as a student in a master's degree program at a library school accredited by the American Library Association. Students who have already begun their programs are eligible to apply for both scholarships. Must be ready to begin the program of study no later than the fall term of the year in which the scholarship is awarded. Applicants must indicate an intention to complete degree requirements within three years and maintain a passing grade average throughout the program and submit grade reports to the committee chair at the end of each term. Must agree to work for one year following graduation from library school in a library-related capacity in Georgia. For more information or to apply, please visit the scholarship provider's website.

Protest at Johns Hopkins U Over Proposed Private Police Force

Student at Johns Hopkins University have staged a month-long sit-in at Garland Hall, JHU’s main administrative building, to protest the university's plans for a private police force, which was recently approved by the Maryland General Assembly. The university has had to suspend financial aid, disability, academic advising, and international services due to the protest's complete blockage. The protesting students are also demanding that JHU cancel its contracts with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and eight students even chained themselves to Garland Hall. [...]
