  • Scholarship Description
  • Altrusa International is a community service organization with a focus on literacy and other local needs. Ruth F. Richardson was the founder of the Dayton-Montgomery County Scholarship Program and a member of Altrusa International. The name of the scholarship was changed to honor her memory following her death in 2012.

    Selection Criteria:
    -GPA of 3.5 or higher
    -Senior graduating from a participating Montgomery County high school and a resident of Montgomery County
    -Plan to attend an accredited college or university on a full-time basis
    -Demonstrate financial need
    -List of honors for scholastic achievements, awards, and co-curricular activities (athletics, debate, dramatics, music, etc.)

    The Altrusa Club of Dayton-Ruth Richardson Scholarship is managed by the Dayton Montgomery County Scholarship Program. Applications must be picked up and submitted through your high school guidance counselor. Deadline dates are also determined by your high school guidance office.
