The only thing that atheism entails is a lack of belief in gods. That's it, atheists who aren't activists are just as much atheists as those who are.

Obviously the previous comments are made by philistines who lack the knowledge or understanding that religion is a tool that allows the status-quo to remain the same. Marxism and anti-theism go hand-in-hand.

Part of being an athiest is NOT trying to convince others to share your beliefs.

Asa G  on 8/29/2018 12:58:49 PM

Agreeing with the comments below. Scholarships for secular activism make sense, but the simple lack of belief in a higher power should not be something that intrinsically demands activism.

Dylan B  on 1/23/2018 6:44:20 PM

Being an atheist isn't about activism. Its the opposite of real religion which is believing in a higher power. An atheists knows there isn't, instead of believing in an extrinsic force making us stronger we know its intrinsic. We are so powerful and strong by what we give and do for ourselves.

Bridget S  on 1/14/2018 10:39:41 AM

It would be nice to see a scholarship for atheist students, not necessarily activist students. There are plenty of religious affiliation scholarships available for theist students that aren't activists.
