  • Scholarship Description
  • The American Taekwondo Association established the H.U. Lee Scholarship Foundation in 1992 to honor its founder, Eternal Grand Master H.U. Lee. Applicants will be considered for a scholarship between $1,000 and $3,000 if they are current high school seniors who:

    -Graduate from an accredited high school with at least a 3.0 GPA
    -Received a letter of acceptance form to an accredited U.S. college/university with full-time study beginning no later than September 30th
    -Minimum 1100 SAT and/or 27 ACT score
    -Exemplify the skills obtained through the American Taekwondo Association such as discipline and perseverance
    -Registered with Selective Services (if required)
    -Have never been convicted of drug possession or distribution
    -Submit a complete application, with a sealed copy high school transcripts with the signature of their school's director of admissions across the envelope
    -Submit two letters of recommendation from persons who can attest to their character
    -Submit an essay (up to 500 words)

Midway through his "It's OK to be White" speech at the University of Connecticut, Conservative commentator Lucian Wintrich was arrested and charged with attempted larceny and disorderly conduct after he grabbed a woman who had swiped his notes off his lectern. The charges have since been dropped and in a reversal, the woman was arrested and charged with attempted larceny and disorderly conduct.
