  • High school students in Washington have an extended deadline of March 15 to apply to Boise State University in order to be considered for the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) award. Applications received beyond March 15 are not guaranteed to be considered for the WUE award. WUE recipients receive a savings of approximately $10,500 per year, for four years.

    Once you've applied for admission and sent in your high school transcripts and test scores, you will be automatically considered for a WUE award. You must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident to be considered for WUE. Please note that the following majors are not eligible for consideration for the WUE award: Nursing, Pre-nursing, Radiology, and Pre-radiology, and self-supported online programs. "U of Farmington" Fraudsters Prosecuted, Deported

NC Senator Proposes Taxing of Athletic Scholarships

In response to the NCAA's vote to allow athletes to profit from their names, images and likeness, Senator Richard Burr of North Carolina has proposed taxing those scholarships. Senator Burr tweeted: "If college athletes are going to make money off their likenesses while in school, their scholarships should be treated like income. I'll be introducing legislation that subjects scholarships given to athletes who choose to 'cash in' to income taxes." [...]
