  • Scholarship Description
  • In 1999, Governor Kenny Guinn's Millennium Scholarship initiative was enacted into law by the Nevada Legislature; the legislation (NRS 396.911) created the Millennium Scholarship trust fund to be administered by the State Treasurer. In October, the Board of Regents adopted policy guidelines for the administration of the scholarship.

    Eligibility:
    -Must be an eligible Millennium Scholar with no strikes against his/her scholarship at the time of application
    -Must be entering his/her senior or last year of college with 90 or more credits at an eligible institution
    -Be enrolled in and remain enrolled in a course of study leading to licensure in elementary or secondary education
    -Maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA
    -State a commitment to teaching in Nevada upon graduation
    -Have a commendable record of community service
