Scholarship Description

The Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA) is a public corporation and governmental agency and instrumentality of the Commonwealth established in 1966 to improve students' access to higher education. To that end, KHEAA administers several financial aid programs and disseminates information about higher education opportunities. KHEAA's mission statement is to expand educational opportunities by providing financial and informational resources that enable Kentuckians to attain their higher education goals.

The KEES program provides scholarships to students who earn at least a 2.5 GPA each year they attend a certified Kentucky high school. The better they do in high school, the more they earn toward college. They may also earn awards for ACT/SAT scores and Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB) or Cambridge Advanced International (CAI) test scores. Home school and GED graduates may earn awards based on their ACT scores. There is no application needed to receive your KEES award. For high school graduates, once your college certifies that you are attending classes, KHEAA will forward your award to your school. Home-schooled and GED students should contact the financial aid office to have the school report your enrollment to KHEAA.
