  • The George Scott Jr. Memorial Scholarship shall be given to academically-motivated African American students from Lubbock, Texas who will be attending Texas Tech University. The Community Foundation of West Texas offers a number of scholarships created through the generosity of individuals, families and businesses for which local area students may apply. In all cases, scholarship payments are made directly to the educational institution and can be used for tuition, fees and books only. Unused funds are returned to the Foundation at the end of the academic year.
