  • Scholarship Description
  • The Massachusetts Youth Soccer Scholarship Program is for high school seniors who plan to attend a post-secondary educational institution. A scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded to one male and one female each year. To be eligible for this scholarship, the student-athlete must have been associated with Massachusetts Youth Soccer for at least the past two years. Each application (and supporting documentation) must be received on or before May 1st. Massachusetts Youth Soccer will select the best-qualified applicants. The scholarship will be paid to each recipient after they have completed a full semester and it will be paid by a check made payable to the recipient and mailed to their home address listed on the scholarship application. In addition each recipient will be invited to attend the Annual Awards Banquet in December.

    Each candidate must complete and submit the Massachusetts Youth Soccer Application for Scholarship and supporting documentation. Applicant must write and submit an essay of more than 500 words on how the game of soccer has positively influenced their lives and must have been a player registered with Massachusetts Youth Soccer for at least the past two years. This scholarship is for a high school senior who will be attending a post-secondary school. For more information or to apply, please visit the scholarship provider's website.

Protest at Johns Hopkins U Over Proposed Private Police Force

Student at Johns Hopkins University have staged a month-long sit-in at Garland Hall, JHU’s main administrative building, to protest the university's plans for a private police force, which was recently approved by the Maryland General Assembly. The university has had to suspend financial aid, disability, academic advising, and international services due to the protest's complete blockage. The protesting students are also demanding that JHU cancel its contracts with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and eight students even chained themselves to Garland Hall. [...]
