To be eligible for the Mitchell/Tufts Scholarship, applicants must: be an active member or active in the life of a Presbyterian church in the Presbyterian Church in North Central Texas; be accepted for enrollment or are currently enrolled in a two- or four-year undergraduate program in an accredited college, university, vocational school, or trade school; demonstrate financial need; and have work experience and/or community service experience.
The Mitchell/Tufts Foundation Scholarship was established at The Dallas Foundation in 2014. The goal of the Fund is to make a college degree or vocational certification possible for members or persons active in the life of a Presbyterian church in the Presbyterian Church USA (PCUSA) in North Central Texas, or in Los Angeles and surrounding communities, who are students of promise and can demonstrate financial need.
