The Robert Sherman Fine Art Scholarship was established to foster the study of art and advance the development of artists in keeping with the mission of the Glenview Art League. It is for a high school senior planning to pursue a college degree in a visual art. Students will be judged without bias or prejudice based on their application, the quality of their work, and letters of recommendation. It is a one-time scholarship of $1,000, given directly to the student to use at their discretion towards the cost of college.
Applicants must: Be a graduating senior currently enrolled in high school; Be planning to major in a visual art in college; Submit a completed application postmarked by March 30 of the year applying; Submit two letters of recommendation, at least one from an art teacher; Submit a digital portfolio (link, email or flash drive) with at least 10 images of their work; Submit proof of college acceptance as a visual arts major for Fall no later than April 15 of the year applying; Reside in Glenview attending any high school, or be a student in District 225. Applicants may be asked to interview with the Scholarship Committee.
