I applied for this scholarship because I do not have the money to pay for my college courses out of pocket. My GPA is 1.75, and I have a pell grant but it is on hold because my GPA is not at a 2.0 like it is supposed to be. I am a registered member of the Cherokee tribe and have applied for a scholarship because I am really wanting to major in Criminal Justice and maybe later on go into Law School to become a criminal lawyer. This has been a dream of mine for a very long time, but I was not able to follow through with it because I was raising my kids, They are grown now and are in college and making their own way in life, so now I figure it's my time to persue my dreams and make my children proud, plus I want to be able help people and get justice for those who have not been able to. I have tried everything I know of for applying for other types of grants or financial aid, but it seems like I just keep hitting roadblocks everywhere I turn. I do not want to have to give up on this dream of mine,. I am not a quitter, so I am hoping that this will be able to help me get back into school or help me find some other resources that might be able to help me. Thank You for listening.
