Iron & Steel Society Foundation Scholarships
Applicant must be a full-time student and major in metallurgy, metallurgical engineering or materials science. Other majors will be considered when application is accompanied by letter from academic advisor on official letterhead regarding program's preparation for advancement of steel production, steel application or the use of steel in material design.
Applicants should have a genuine interest in a career in ferrous-related industries as demonstrated by internship, co-op or related experiences and/or demonstrable plans to pursue such experience during college. It is recommended, though not required, that junior and senior applicants should have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale within declared major. For students with undeclared majors, a minimum GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale is preferred, but not mandatory. Applicants should demonstrate leadership abilities. Applicants must be ISS student members or submit an application for membership with the scholarship application.
