Scholarship Description

The National Association of Junior Auxiliaries is made up of nearly 100 Junior Auxiliary Chapters throughout Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee. The Junior Auxiliary was founded on the principles of helping children and making a difference in their lives; it provides women the opportunity to serve and be a vital part of their communities. The objectives of the Association are to unite in one body all Junior Auxiliary Chapters and members to promote the work and mission of Junior Auxiliary. Founded in 1962, the NAJA Scholarship Program is the longest running Junior Auxiliary Project and the designated National Service Project.

To apply for NAJA Scholarships, applicants must be: pursuing graduate level studies for one year in fields which address the special needs of children and youth; this includes, but is not limited to, Counseling, Psychology, Mental Health, Special Education, Speech Pathology, Exceptional Children, Remedial Skills Development, Hearing Impaired, and Gifted & Talented; a U.S. citizen and a permanent resident of a state with a Junior Auxiliary Chapter: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee; and planning to attend a U.S. college or university. Dollar amounts for the scholarships will vary.
