Odebrecht Award for Sustainable Development

The Odebrecht Award for Sustainable Development is accepting entries from students of all engineering fields, architecture, building and construction management and chemistry who are enrolled full-time at an accredited university in the United States. By submitting a paper that outlines contributions to sustainability, students have an opportunity to engage in a challenging exercise to develop engineering and chemical solutions and win $65,000 in cash prizes for themselves, their faculty advisors and their universities.

Projects may be undertaken individually or in a group of no more than three students under the supervision of an advising professor. If in a group, students must be enrolled at the same university, and are encouraged to invite team members from other schools or departments within their institution. Entries will be evaluated on clarity & presentation, reasoning & depth, content, technical contribution and applicability. Winning students, advising professors and university representatives will be invited to participate of the annual award ceremony with all expenses paid. Winning ideas will also be showcased in a special supplement published by a recognized national publication. Award winners may be invited to further develop implementation of their innovative ideas, as it is Odebrecht's and Braskem's objective to use the award as a platform for implementing sustainable business practices.

All entries are due by May 31st. For more information, please visit our website.
