  • Scholarship Description
  • NASF Scholarships are open to college juniors, seniors, and graduate students in the United States majoring in subjects related to surface science. These include chemistry, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, metallurgical engineering, materials science engineering, metallurgy, materials science and others. Selection is based on, but not limited to: career interest in surface finishing, scholarship, achievement, motivation and potential. Awards are not necessarily based on financial need.

    The scholarship award is available to both undergraduates and graduates. Undergraduate applicants must be junior standing or above when applying and must be of senior standing for the next academic year. Undergraduate and graduate students must be studying in chemical engineering, material science or engineering, mechanical engineering, metallurgical engineering, environmental engineering, or chemistry. The applicant must be attending an accredited college. Only students attending college/university in the United States are invited to apply.

Good afternoon, My son Colby Macias who received a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering at UTSA in San Antonio Texas in 2008, has worked for an airline that designs custom airplanes for diplomats all over the world. He wants to expand his knowledge for a patent lawyer at St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas. He has taken his LSAT test and will start school in the next 2 weeks. He will continue to work and graduate in 2018. He paid for his first school loan and will pay for this one which will probably exceed $100,000.00 He is not one to ever ask for anything however if there are any scholarships available to him, that would help him. As a mother, I know there are many children that are special but Colby's tenacity with adversity has always shown through. He will be something in this world that will benefit more than just himself, he will add promise to our future.
