Hello,I’m a C/O 2023 high school senior. I will be attending The University of Alabama in the fall of 2023. This scholarship can and will help me in numerous ways from housing, books, meal plans, tuition and that’s just the beginning , hopefully it will do the same for you. With this money I would come out of college with zero or not near as much student debt I would have before this blessing came abruptly. “I can do all things through christ which strengthen me” Philippians 4:13, this quote is something I have to tell myself everyday and I hope god blesses me with enough strength to have this grant money. I am beyond thankful and grateful to have this opportunity words can’t understand. Thank you,

Hi! I'm a sophomore in high school! I am really passionate about music and have been working on writing a song. I play guitar so it's not the best but hopefully someone will appreciate it. I am going to try and send as my submission for the scholarship so I can have less to worry about when it comes to college (if I even win, but it's ok if I dont) and more time to do what I love!

Gabriel E  on 10/3/2022 8:28:33 AM

I'm thrilled to apply to this scholarship, and finally putting my writing abilities to use! I'm a creative writer, and have been working on a story for about a year now. Hopefully, I'll be able to finish my second draft of my book to be able to send it through this Scholarship, and possibly win this award. I'll have to work my butt of, but for an opportunity like this, DEFINITELY worth it!

My life's experiences are preparing me for something great. I am pursuing a future of creation in the earth's sciences, art and education departments. So that I may be able to share the excitement of the earth with others. And to come up with life changing explorations within these fields. Although the youngest in my class I graduated the year 2021 from Pineview High School with a 3.89 GPA in 2021. After High school I ran straight up my beloved University SUU to pursue my next adventure. With one year down of living on my own I have realized how I have matured and developed good habits and skills. I have become more confident, self reliant, and smart in my financial decisions. As I run ahead to obtain my goals. I realize I may have outrun a feasible plan to cover my tuition.. If I am to continue my education I am in desperate need of funding. I am torn between continuing my education and going into debt or dropping out of school to work and sustain my living expenses. A great weight would be lifted off my shoulders if my tuition was paid for. In my current situation I work a construction job part time during the school year so that I may focus on my classes and my good grades. However this does not provide me with enough income to pay my tuition, housing, insurance, food, and bills. A scholarship can help me propel forward without hesitation to complete my education so that I may be steps closer to being a part of my Southern Utah homeland community.

Miracle E  on 12/14/2021 3:06:49 PM

Hello, my name is Miracle Edwards. I am currently a freshman at the school Philadelphia Electrical And Technology Charter Highschool. I believe that I deserve a chance to win this scholarship because of the person problems in my life right now. I am a foster child and I am currently in a shelter as I'm writing this. My parents aren't currently financially stable to house me now let alone deal with college expenses. I do not let this stop me though, because of scholarship programs like this I am able to still achieve my goals of becoming a Chemical Engineer. Chemistry has always kept my mind of my living situations. The complexity of chemicals leave me with no time for useless recreation or time to cause problems like most of my foster siblings. I am currently enrolled in a Harvard class for bioethics and I further my education in the chemical engineering field everyday. I am writing this in hopes of making myself one step closer from becoming rock bottom to someone that is apart of the top 10%.

I am a first-generation Mexican-American and would love to become a journalist and eventually form my own magazine company. In addition to being the first person in my immediate family to go to college.

Eberardo R  on 2/11/2021 10:35:28 AM

I strongly believe that I deserve a chance to win this scholarship because of the past personal struggles that I have gone through at a young age. I come from a family of 3 siblings and a single mother, we weren't always financially stable and we never had the luxuries that others had, and quite frankly we aren't currently financially stable to where my family is able to pay for my college expenses. So realistically scholarships are my only chance for me to achieve my dreams of becoming a college student majoring in Mechanical Engineering. It would benefit a lot if I received help financially to help me reach my education dreams. I’m in dire need of someone who can support me and invest in me because it would fuel me and motivate me to keep going with my future goals! What my future plans consist of would be going into a university/college here in Texas and getting a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering with a minor in Business, I want to start looking at routes I can take into building a useful product that will help and benefit people, making their lives much better and easier! The things that will support me and motivate me to keep pushing through obstacles that I face, would be thinking about my family, using them as a source of motivation and a reminder of why I'm doing this in the first place. I'm an 18-year-old Mexican-American who going to be a first-generation to go into college. Growing up I never imagined that I would reach the point where I am now because when I was younger college really something that I was worrying about/had my attention. And that would be because I was a 10 year old having to take care of my siblings while my mother had to work two jobs just to make sure rent was paid and we had food on our plates. Through this time my biological father was sent to jail leaving my pregnant mother with 3 kids all alone to worry about housing and food. My mother couldn't afford to pay the bills because she was pregnant with my sister. We were kick

My name is Laura Nordin and I am a senior at Sycamore High School located in Cincinnati, Ohio. I have been studying piano at the preparatory division of University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music(CCM) for fourteen years now. Although I have completed many vigorous programs, my biggest accomplishment is completing the Royal Conservatory Examinations program through level seven. I am proud to say I have won many awards throughout my performances and competitions. My teacher from CCM provided me with wonderful leadership opportunities such as organizing fundraisers and events throughout her music studio. Not only have I learned to play music, I have learned to have great work ethic, patience, and time management skills. Every morning before school, I wake up at 5:30 in order to practice and perfect my pieces. In addition, during every performance, I have gained courage and confidence while sitting on the stage alone playing my pieces. Finally, when considering what degrees I would like to pursue, I have decided I want to major in buisness and minor in music. I have commited so much time and hard work in to piano and want to continue developing my skill. I believe I will also suceed in buisness due to my learned work ethics throughout my years of studying piano.

Shirin A  on 12/1/2020 9:35:13 AM

My name is Shirin. I am in 8th grade and I am applying for this scholarship opportunity because I want to be able to have an opportunity to learn but not have to worry about financial situations of mine. My mom once said "Taking night classes for 12 years to graduate college was not worth it to get my bachelors degree, if I would have gone back to that time I would have applied for many scholarships so that I could learn with no worries. But I would have hoped that society was smart enough to not charge people for learning, but that is what happened." I want to learn from my mom, about the mistake I won't make. I am located in San Antonio, TX but I am wanting to apply to Stanford University in California. I want to study medicine because of many reasons. First, I have been diagnosed with asthma, fatty liver, eczema, and inflammation on my head. I have also had my family get diagnosed with a whole in one of my cousins heart and cancer. When COVID-19 began I felt a need to help others but I was getting held back because of this disease being contagious. I realized that if I could become a doctor it would be my life and I would be very happy about everything I do from surgeries to helping minor patients with cuts and bruises. That is why I am applying for this scholarship, because I want to help people as much as I can without having the burden of money getting in my way. I want to learn to be the best I can be so that I can help many people with my hands and my heart.

Ingram  on 11/16/2020 6:02:10 PM

My name is Hayden. Music was and will forever be my outlet. As a high school graduate during the year of 2020 things were cut short in terms of my musical career. I started playing the flute in 6th grade. Since the start I would always come home and practice for hours even when it was just me blowing on the head joint to get a good tone, or later on practicing all of my scales so I could make the top band. The hard work I put in paid off as I made the all region band my 8th grade year. Then a few months later scoring a superior rating on my solo which I later came to realize was a grade 1 solo in high school. Come high school I made the top Wind Ensemble, which at the time was unheard of for a freshman to make the top band. This was also the time that I started playing piccolo. I was terrified at first and very shy to be heard, but a few months later I fell in love with the instrument. I tried out for freshman and upperclassman all region and made both. The years to follow I did the same and continued to work harder and harder to perfect the etudes. Not only playing through the notes but adding musicality to each and every phrase. I liked the challenge of making a seemingly robotic sounding piece to be expressive almost as though it was meant to be a lyrical piece. I made it every year of my high school career. I loved the thrill of getting to play with musicians who had a passion for music like I did. There was something so special about it. Towards the end of senior year, I had to stop playing and turn in my piccolo due to classes going all online. I felt like a piece of my heart and soul had been taken away. Flash forward to today. I got a piccolo 2 days ago as a surprise and I felt like a piece of me had been returned. The light in my eyes, my smile, my happiness all returned. I didn’t think I was ever going to get that feeling back. Music is my passion. Putting in the work to perfect things doesn’t feel like work at all because it is what I love to do. That’

Rebecca Longstaff  on 10/20/2020 4:35:56 PM

My name is Rebecca Longstaff. I'm a junior at Wichita South High School. I am a singer for Madrigals and Concert Choir. I have been singing since I could walk. I've been in many choirs, concerts, talent shows, and even sang with Alumni at Friends University and college undergraduates at Emporia State University. I had a hard time growing up because I did things different than others. When I got to middle school things started to turn around for me after I joined choir. It was like my first home. I love music with a passion and I hope that with a limitless scholarship for college or university I can finally set a course for the rest of my life. Without worrying about if a career in music can support me or if I will even be able to go to college because I don't have the money to. My major in college would be B.M. and I would minor in Music Performance. Hopefully in the future, I plan to become a professional singer through the Music Industry so that I can advocate for people like me who are put down for their looks rather than their skills. I want to give people like me a reason to not hide behind other people's incriminating words and disrespectful attitudes. I want to be able to save someone's life like music did for me. Thank you.

chania M.  on 10/7/2020 3:05:50 PM

My name is Chania Miller. I am a senior at Henderson Collegiate located in Henderson North Carolina. I am a Saxophone player and I've been learning for almost 6 years and also teaching myself how to play percussion, specifically the drums. I chose band in the 6th grade because I knew I wanted to learn how to play different instruments like the trumpet, piano, guitar etc. and hopefully be in a band, be a music performer, or do music production. I fell in love with music when I was only just 7 years old and it was introduced to me through my family. Throughout the years they would teach me and expose me to different genres of music like Latin, R&B, hip hop, rock, pop, and reggae. As my major, for when I attend the college of my choice, I want it to be music production. As my minor, I want it to be engineering technology. Hopefully in the future, I want my career to be a successful music producer and to be successful in engineering technology so I can change the world and help or motivate others who want to do the same as me.

I desire to become a civil engineer. I developed an idea to help keep athletes from getting heat strokes. My invention won the state and national Skills USA competition. My plan is to major in civil engineering when I go to college next year. I have a lot of ideas to help bring change to the future.

Princre A  on 9/22/2020 4:38:59 PM

last year (senior year) before my undergraduate year of college, I was scrolling through random scholarships. I have always had a higher sense of intuition then a lot of my peers, but as many others, the struggles of life, which i had many, seemed to overpower my will to actually put my abilities into practice. I often start a work and immediately doubt myself. However, this scholarship motivated me to let go of the fear and do my best. Winning the scholarship would be nice but positive affirmation of finally pursuing my dreams would be rewarding enough.

I'm about to apply to this scholarship because I recognize how far I've come- from an immigrant who couldn't operate a mere computer's mouse to building circuits. Its a good oportunity and I'd tell anyone who sees it to give it a try it will send you placess.

A scholarships one motivation isn't about the money, its about the effort and motivation to thrive more in life. We live in a world where we don't know what to expect the next minute that passes by, but one thing we know is there is no time to waste. This scholarship will enable me to give back to my family for pushing me on in life even when I found that my life has no happy ending. I am a graduate of the class of 2020 from High School of Telecommunications Arts and Technology. My goal begins with seeing smiles from my parents, their ecstatic look that I am going to succeed no matter how tough life gets. I am doing this for my family, and for myself. Winning a scholarship like Davidson Fellow Scholarship would make me full of content and delighted that I was able to get this amazing award.

I am applying for this scholarship for the sense of independence I’m submitting myself to in order to help my parents in sending me to school. I am a rising senior in High School who was been singing all of my life been in my High school chorus for almost 4 years now and middle school for 3. Singing is my biggest passion along with music and to be able to pursue what I love in college would be a dream come true. It’s a shame that in society today it cost so much in order to do what you love and to contribute something to the world but if applying for this scholarship will help me and my parents achieve that then I see no reason why not to. Thank you for offering this opportunity to students everywhere.

I am a high school senior i recently graduated at Fontana High School in Fontana California. The reason why I'm applying for his scholarship is because i want to be able to cover the cost of the rest of my tuition for college and for a dorm as well i will be living a hour n 30 minutes away from my home and it will be a tiring drive back and fourth on a daily basis. I am also running of a Athletic Scholarship for Softball at University of Antelope Valley so driving back n fourth wouldn't be good for my health and it would also drain big amounts of gas money. I hope you take my comment into consideration and chose me to receive this amount of money to help me and my family out and change my future to something good. Have a nice day and a great rest of your evening.GOODLUCK!! :)

I am a Senior of the 2020 class, that would love to attend The University of Akron with the major in Engineering and my minor in Historical arts and sciences. I would love to receive this application to further my education and really excel. Giving my family who took their time to raise me to finally be proud of my accomplishments.

Schildonald J.  on 5/24/2020 5:53:40 PM

I am a high school senior at Brockton High School, who will be graduating in 5 days. I am applying for this scholarship because I am going to attend the University of Massachusetts Boston in the upcoming fall for a BS in engineering. I want to help my parents as much as possible by lowering the cost to attend. For my four years of high school, I have been a part of NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers) who I compete in engineering competitions all around the US. I was also a part of YIS (Young Investors Society). This is where we compete and pitch stocks to different investors. I actually won states (Massachusetts) for my stock named Qualcomm and went to nationals. Unfortunately, I didn't WIN, I want to continue to accomplish many things in college with this scholorship.

Cali U  on 5/21/2020 5:26:47 PM

Emylee L  on 5/19/2020 7:48:49 AM

I want to apply for this scholarship because I know with this money, I can make a small difference maybe not in the world but in my world changing and making someone's life better for me is enough. I want to be a social worker to help kids and people who are suffering to have hope. I have hope that you consider me for this scholarship because it would be so incredible to me to have won this money to go after my goals and dreams. Thank you!

I am a high school senior at North Central High school. this corona virus has really affected me and my senior year experiences, and now its moving into my college ones as well. im very bummed about it all, but im trying to make the best of it, as I always have done in the past. im applying for this scholarship to make my mom proud, and show her how strong I am, because she has been brain dead for 5 years now. if I win this scholarship it proves that I can do anything, and so can my siblings.

Isabella C  on 5/11/2020 8:49:17 PM

I would like to apply for this scholarship not only to pay for my college admission but to give back to my community. My community got me to where I am today in my music journey, and I would like to pay them back for the support that they have given me for the past couple of years. I would also like to succeed in the career of my choice of being a high school band director. I want the next generation of musicians to learn and love any piece of music given to them and to have students experience things that other students at other schools possibly can't.

Ramon P  on 4/28/2020 3:56:54 PM

I truly think that this scholarship is a blessing in its own right, and I applied to it solely for the reason that my family has eight mouths to feed and will not be able to pay for me to go to college. This scholarship is a perfect way to encourage youth to apply for college and achieve their dreams to impact the community around them for the better. I personally recommend everyone who is applicable for this scholarship to apply because as the future we must capitalize on the opportunities in front of us and take in any form of help we can because every little penny counts.

I am always enthusiastic to research and works on Philosophy and folk literature in Indian culture. That make our culture more substantial to fight with the capitalist ideology, which attack on my indigenous culture and make it more compress rather than make it more diverse and develop. But due to harsh economic situation i even can't afford my college fee. I really really want to work on my folk culture and its literature and for more research on it i really need money that can sustain for next few year. I will be most thankful if this scholarship help me in my ambition.
