The Dr. Lorraine G. Spranzo Memorial Scholarsh was initiated in 1996 by the New Britain General Hospital School of Nursing Alumni & Associates, Inc. in honor of Dr. Lorraine G. Spranzo (aka Lorrie Keller), a 1967 graduate of this school of nursing, which operated from 1908 until 1974. Dr. Spranzo was, at the time of her death, an Assistant Professor of Nursing at the University of Maryland and a research scholar, having earned her PhD in Policy Sciences in the field of nursing informatics.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be graduate students matriculated in an accredited graduate program in a Connecticut college or university matriculated in an accredited graduate nursing program or doctoral candidates (PhD, DNP or EdD)
- Eligible candidates will have completed at least 12 credits in their graduate-level program while maintaining a 3.0 GPA.
- Master’s level candidates enrolled in non-NLNA or non-CCNE programs are not eligible for this scholarship award.
- Ph.D and EdD candidates in programs related to nursing practice or education may apply
