Scholarship Description
Good Samaritan Foundation is honored to award an average of $30,000 annually in financial support to local scholars. With eight scholarship funds available, the Foundation is able to provide much needed assistance to support graduating seniors, undergraduate or graduate students, medical students, and Good Samaritan employees as they work to attain their educational goals. Applicants should be pursuing degrees in various fields of health care.
Specific criteria will differ by each individual scholarship. To be eligible for any of the awards, applicants must reside or originally be from the 11 counties that Good Samaritan serves. For applicants attending an accredited college or university, a scholarship requirement is to maintain a 3.0 GPA. Besides the application, applicants must also submit: three reference letters (an academic reference and two additional letters of recommendation from their pastor, colleagues, professional peers, etc.); a copy of acceptance into a degree program or conference information; official transcripts; and an essay (250-word minimum) explaining why they are choosing their specified degree and their career plans. Scholarships applications will be reviewed biyearly.
