I would greatly enjoy applying for this scholarships because I plan on going to Penn State University to study Psychology to help people with mental issues, and make people's lives easier. It would be very beneficial for me to win this scholarship because I cannot afford to pay for my education at Penn State alone. It is very expensive and I need as much help as I can get to achieve my dream of helping people, and making the world a better place.

I would love to apply for this scholarship because I am trying to pursue a career in Pre-Med and be a pediatrician. I love kids and want to help them with any illness they are dealing with. This scholarship would help me financially with college and medical school and it would be nice to have it under my belt.

I would like to apply for this scholarship because I am interested in the Psychology field, helping those not only with mental issues but personal ones as well. In order to achieve these goals I want to attent the top HBCU in the country. I have only recently taken an interest in Psychology but as time progresses I feel as though I can be very successful with this career path , changing many lives as time progresses

When I came across this scholarship, I was honestly extremely ecstatic. It was so perfect for me. Every since I was a little girl, I have see many diseases come and go and take many people in my life. This motivated me to come up with this thought: why can't YOU be the change. And I was right, why couldn't I break the generational lack of education in my family, why couldn't I be a first-generation Ghanian- American in my family to reach success. I look at my mom and see her busting her butt every single day to make sure I have clothes on my back. I see more schoolwork in my day than I see of my mom. She pushes me, she drives me, she kicks me in every part of my body and makes me want to run. Run far off into education, success, and outreach. I am hungry to have MD or DO at the end of my name, I am hungry to help the lives of others, and I am hungry to one day be in the position to tell a little girl that was just like me that she can do it too. The title "African-American" holds a lot of weight in this nation, but that weight is nothing but a title to me. I am just as equally capable of getting to the top just as anyone else. I am a leader in my school community, pushing new medical-related courses in my school's curriculum, something that was unheard of. I started a Medical Club at my school to help expand my peer's horizons on their future careers. As captain of the Varsity Cheer Team, Middle School Mentor, Head of my Hall at my boarding school, and active member of the Black Student Union, Intersectional Feminism Cub, and United People of Mnay Colors Club, I am passionate in many fields. But what draws me to medicine is that each branch of interest I have can somehow relate to the field of medicine. In the medical field, I would provide assistance to underserved communities, people of color, women, and etcetera. My passion in the medical field stems from my mother's struggle to make it to the United States, and once she did, wasn't able to fulfill her dreams as

I am a young black female from the Eastern Shore. It has always been my dream to attend the illustrious Howard University and earn my doctorate in clinical psychology. Coming from a low income household with a single mother, this scholarship will help me get into the college of my dreams.

I am so excited in applying for this scholarship because I plan to pursue my career in the future in the medical field as a Sports Medicine Doctor. I've had many experiences seeing what it is like being a Sports Medicine Doctor on a daily basis. This has been my dream for the longest now and I am so excited that I will be moving closer to my dreams soon. I would love to go to a HBCU college, my options is very much open to anything dealing with Sports Medicine. If I am awarded this scholarship, I can work towards my career goals in the medical field. I am aiming to make a difference in my community, and this scholarship will absolutely be the difference-maker when it comes to affording the education, I need to do that. I will take advantage of this scholarship in pursuing my career goals. To reach my goals, I need as much help as possible. I already have the moral support of my family and friends, but that is not quite enough to make my dream come true. I hope that awarding me this scholarship can help me reach this dream.

I am very much interested in applying for this scholarship because I plan on pursuing a career in the health professions. I intend to explore the different health professions that are available to make sure I choose the best fit for me. I intend to go to an HBCU, however, because the one that I want to attend is out of state, I will need financial assistance to be able to. If I am awarded this scholarship, it would help me to fulfill my dream of becoming a healthcare professional one day.

Hi, I'm Zakiya Brown and I have not applied for this scholarship yet because I haven't had the opportunity to explore other scholarships that could really benefit me in the long run. I am a very dedicated and motivated student that works hard for everything that I put my mind to. I can greatly benefit from this scholarship because I grew up with practically nothing without having to work for it for myself. As a first generation in my family to go to college I believe this scholarship could really help me
