The GeoKids Fellowship places Biology graduate students into schools as a part of their training in science. Graduate LINKS Fellows receive 12-month stipends and a full tuition scholarship. To be eligible for the fellowships, Graduate Fellows must be accepted into St. Joseph's University M.S. Biology program. No prior experience with K-6 education is required, but reliability, flexibility and a willingness to work as part of a multidisciplinary, multicultural team are necessary.
Fellowship duties and activities include: receiving training during a workshop; involvement in training sessions throughout the academic year; bi-weekly meetings with the program staff; discussions on topics relevant to their activities; hands-on science lessons in the classroom; development of necessary instructional materials; and participation in ongoing assessment activities of the program.
