The Helen Laughlin AM Mode Memorial Scholarship is an award with preference given to residents of Texas. If no qualified applicant is identified, preference will be given to residents of Arkansas. If no qualified applicant is identified, preference will be given to residents of the ARRL West Gulf (Texas, Oklahoma) or Delta (Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee) Divisions. Preference is given to women Amateur Radio operators who are performing at a high academic level. Preference is given to applicants who have made a contact in the AM mode, but is not required.
All applicants of ARRL scholarships must be active, FCC-licensed amateur radio operators [note: Active foreign amateur radio operators are eligible for The ARDC Scholarships.] All applicants must submit a completed online application. Transcripts and and additional required documents must be submitted with the application and not emailed separately. Applicants must have a 2.0 GPA, be either citizens of the United States or other countries, and can be in any level of education (but be at least high school seniors).
