Hello, I was wondering if this scholarship could be a awarded to a person pursing a criminal justice degree? I have already got accepted into East Carolina University which is located in Greenville ,NC. And I plan on joining the ROTC detachment there and after, join the military as a law enforcement officer.

My mother is a hard worker and has always provided for me and my sister. She always made sure we had what we needed and more. As a single mother, struggled and put things she wanted for herself aside for us. At one point in time we had to move back in to my grandma house because she started to get sick. We found out my grandma had esophageal cancer and was going to pass away soon. My mother then quit her job to take care of my grandma for many months until she died. After she passed away, we had to sell the house and move back to SE Washington, DC. In high school, College was not on my mind at the time even though I really wanted to go. I just didn’t know the reason why I wanted to go. I even started to play football for my High School just to try and at least get a offer from some school. In my senior year I thought to myself ‘this is the year I proved everybody wrong and get a offer’ but the worse came and I injured my knee. I thought football was the only way out because in class I was an average student barely getting above a 2.4 but once I got a 3.5 on my last report card and got accepted to the Virginia State University, I then found my purpose in life. My mother won’t always here to help. So I have to start doing things by myself and one of those things are to get scholarships to pay for college because I don’t want my mother paying all that money. I will go to college to pursue my dream of becoming an excellent police officer. I hope you will help me on this rough journey
