The Scott Durand Memorial Scholarship, established in 2000, is dedicated to the memory of Terry “Scott” Durand II. The purpose of this scholarship is to help other young scholar-athletes. Applicants must: Have a minimum 3.25 GPA on a 4.0 scale; Be a Swan Valley High School senior who lettered in a varsity sport at Swan Valley High School; Be accepted to or enrolled in college part-time or full-time. Dollar amounts will vary.
Scott graduated from Swan Valley High School near the top of his class in 1992. His classmates voted him the “Top Male Graduate.” Scott loved football and played for the Vikings. As a senior, he received “All Conference Honorable Mention” honors at offensive guard. Scott continued his education at Michigan Technological University, graduating in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering. Until his passing, he worked for RC Associates as a staff engineer.
