  • Scholarship Description
  • The Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team recognizes high achieving two-year college students who demonstrate academic excellence and intellectual rigor combined with leadership and service that extends their education beyond the classroom to benefit society. Fifty (50) students will be named Gold Scholars, each receiving $1,500 scholarships; fifty (50) students will be named Silver Scholars, each receiving $1,250 scholarships; and fifty (50) students will be named Bronze Scholars, each receiving $1,000 scholarships. A state may have multiple gold, silver or bronze Scholars. The program awards $187,500 in scholarships annually. Nominees must be enrolled at a community college through December the year in which the scholarship is awarded, with a minimum of six semester credit hours or nine quarter credit hours. A 3.5 GPA is required and students must be on track to receive an associate's or bachelor's degree (or the equivalent). Protest at Johns Hopkins U Over Proposed Private Police Force

Student at Johns Hopkins University have staged a month-long sit-in at Garland Hall, JHU’s main administrative building, to protest the university's plans for a private police force, which was recently approved by the Maryland General Assembly. The university has had to suspend financial aid, disability, academic advising, and international services due to the protest's complete blockage. The protesting students are also demanding that JHU cancel its contracts with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and eight students even chained themselves to Garland Hall. [...]
