  • Scholarship Description
  • PPEF is an educational, charitable, nonprofit organization that awards college scholarships to students who have a parent working in the promotional products industry or who are working for a company in the industry. Since 1989, PPEF has awarded $1,417,000 in college scholarships to 850 students. PPEF Scholarships are only available to promotional products industry employees and their dependents.

    The types of scholarships that are offered (with varying award amount and eligibility criteria):
    -Four-Year College Scholarship for academic excellence and achievement
    -Chairmans College Scholarship
    -One-Year College Scholarship
    -Named Scholarships
    -Friends of PPMN Scholarship

    General eligibility:
    -Scholarships are available to full-time promotional products industry employees or their dependent children
    -Scholarships are available for undergraduate education only except for the Friends of PPMN scholarship which may be used for undergraduate or graduate level coursework
    -Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
    -Applicants may apply for more than one scholarship. Special note: the Four-Year College scholarships will be awarded first. Applicants not receiving a Four-Year College Scholarship will be automatically considered for the one-year college
    -Scholarships and Named Scholarships so a separate application is not required
    -To be considered for the need-based scholarships, PPEF must receive a copy of the Student Aid Report that a student receives after filing the FAFSA

"OK to Be White" Signs a "Sign of the Times"?

"It's okay to be white" signs were scattered on college campuses across the country, as well as in Canada over the past week. Reportedly, the signs were first suggested on an online chat forum called 4chan, calling on people to place posters in their area on Halloween night. At Harvard Law School, at least 20 handmade stickers with the message "It's ok to be white" were posted on light poles and electrical boxes. Harvard Law's Dean of Students Marcia Sells condemned the posters, stating the posters and stickers are "intended to divide us from one another" and that "HLS will not let that happen here." The Department of Public Works removed the stickers shortly thereafter. Even after they had been removed, the message continued to circulate via social media through hashtags and videos, gaining both condemnation and support. [...]
