  • Benjamin was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia two weeks after celebrating his 13th birthday. During his 9 month battle, he held on to the hope that he would defeat cancer. Benjamin planned his future, shared his dreams, hoped and prayed that his friends and family would never know cancer or experience his pain, suffering, and fears. Benjamin will always be remembered as thoughtful, loving, caring, witty, and wise beyond his years. His death has left a void in the hearts of those who love and miss him

    A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a New Jersey graduating high school senior who excels in academics and is actively involved in community service.

    Submission materials:
    -An official transcript of your high school grades
    -An essay describing your community service involvement and its significance to your life
    -Three (3) teacher letters of recommendation attached to this completed application

    Only the first 75 applicants will be reviewed. Applicants must be New Jersey residents.

A controversial immigration debate was canceled this week by a student group at The University of Chicago - a university which "prides itself on protecting free speech, even offensive speech."
